As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Training Hardcore and Making the Most of It All

As part of our training today, we headed off to a sauna resort for some swimming... and some should-have-expected-but-didn't "other" crazy training at the sauna resort, like experiencing an ice room and make-your-bones-ache cold pool.
For the record, I was the ONLY one out of our entire crew of 6 that double-dipped in the cold pool so props to me.  But don't get me wrong, it's only because I wanted to show them up that I did it.
In the afternoon we headed to the boxing club -- it's MASSIVE!!!
In addition to its two boxing rings it had numerous dinning tables with a performance stage area and many other rooms, like an office, bathrooms and mini kitchen area.
It's a pretty awesome club if you ask me and I love the open concept of it with it not really having any walls.  Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Hulk's but if I were to have to train at another club, I could definitely get used to training here.

To tell you the truth, I was very nervous about having to train at a different club, with boxers I've never trained with before (especially because Tommy is the PABA champion) and with a coach I've never met.  Training here today was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING like what I anticipated it to be.
It was great, so great actually.  I trained beside some European guys, Korean kids and did padwork with one of their coaches -- a Filipino guy who really gave me some great pointers.
Our crew this week consists of 6 people -- the boxing club owner/manager, his friend and his son, Tommy, another Korean male boxer, and me.  We travel and do things as a group and tonight for dinner and when we went downtown, we were joined by the Filipino coach.
Tonight we headed to Walking Street.
It's an overly packed-to-the-max street that is beside the ocean.
And there, on Walking Street, they sell pretty much everything and anything
... included fried strangeness!!!
Check out those frogs... don't you just want to chow down on one of them?!
Oh, trust me, I know.. I don't either but I did!!!
Here's me and Coach about to devour a frog each... oh man, the things we'll do for the things we want.  Tonight I ate a frog for the rights to tomorrow's breakfast choice and yes it was worth it!

Everyone from all walkes of life are on Walking Street, it was almost scary.
But it was the sudden downpour of crazier-than-crazy rain that was scary.
Check out those white things, that's metal that was once a part of some shop's roof!!!
