As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

One to Remember... Thursday, December 19

Yesterday I met a couple from my Instagram followers and today I introduced them to the Lil' Sistas of Holy Family Home and the nuns that mother them.

It was a moment too cool to even begin to elaborate about.

Yesterday I didn't think my conversation with them would actually evolve into anything beyond them opening my eyes and thoughts to the possibilities and potential of the Lil' Sistas Project.  I never would have imagined that me doing the Lil' Sistas Project could ever bring about giving these girls a home, a forever family, but there I was, hearing them tell me all about how they want to adopt and how they're interested in my Lil' Sistas.

The nuns and the girls at Holy Family Home told me yesterday that they'd be dropping by my clubhouse to pick up my collected cash donation.  I was anticipating buying them a sewing machine with that cash but just so randomly I was able to get an industrial sewing machine donated.  So today the girls were going to come by on route to their unexpected shopping trip.  That cash was going to buy them all new Christmas Eve outfits.

When I got word that they were going to come by, definitely an unexpected first, I messaged the couple from yesterday and asked them if they wanted to also swing by.  I could introduce them.  They agreed and today they showed up.

I cried later with such joy over the thought of it.  It's a memory I'll always cherish.
