I'm not a fan of cats but I'm not cool with random stray, helpless animals. So when I was out running and came across a stray itty, bitty kitten, I shook my head but stopped to check it out. I was only a few kilometres into my run so I told myself that if that kitten was still there when I came back, I'd take it.
I didn't know where I'd take it or what I'd do with it but I couldn't just leave it there.
Ran over 10km, returned on route home and viola, there was the kitten. It was walking towards the middle of the busy road -- the main road in my community. Took that kitten home, it squawking and crying it's head off, and placed it on my neighbour's lot. My next door neighbour is a TV celebrity and he's a huge cat lover and animal advocate. Two of this cats are always visiting my second floor clubhouse and I think they're both rescues. He has indoor cats too.
Now he has another outdoor cat, this kitty?! Maybe.
Just recently he headed out of country for the Christmas holiday and I'm heading out too soon, so I'm not too sure on who is going to look after this young little one. Her name is Ali, I named her after Muhammad Ali. She's a true fighter and it only seemed fitting.
