As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of My Day...Saturday September 3

1. Woke up exactly when I was suppose to be at school for the speech contest....ahhh, this always happens!
2. Tasha was suppose to be my wake-up call and I ended up being her wake-up call....what's up with that? Thank goodness for the both of us that I woke up right on time.
3. Had the SLP kindergarten speech contest today and they completely froze. I've never seen them so quiet. It's like they all of a sudden didn't know how to speak. We ended up having them all up and then did it again in pairs.
4. It was so funny to see how my kindergarten students reacted to being on stage....John went into a giggle fit but the best was when Roy and Jimmy were on stage. Roy got mad at Jimmy for not participating and yelled out, "Teacher...Jimmy no!"
5. Overheard a conversation that instantly changed my sweet day into a sour day. Realized that all my hard work, and the students' hard work too, was pointless. They already were leaning in one way before the day even started. However, the student that did win was good but....no further comment!
6. Heard that my student Fay competited in the afternoon competition that I did not attend. Apparently she got on stage, stumbled on her speech and then cried. Feel partly responsible for this too cause I should have been there to help her out but had decided to catch up on some much needed sleep.
7. Finally ran into this mysterious Travis dude that all the ladies are talking about....what a disappointment. Besides the fact that he's the height of a giraffe, he's very homely looking and althought I don't think he's ugly, he's was definitely hyped up too much!!! Minsoo still holds the title as the best looking man in Korea. No competition!
8. Trained with the big boys at the gym today...Mr. Park, Minsoo, and Mr Gold-bodybuilding man and felt like I was training at Korea's version of Gold's Gym.
9. Mook made a surprise visit at training and it's always nice to see him.
10. Canceled plans with Kat so that I can wake up for deep sea fishing tomorrow. Hung out with Daewoo at home and so tonight was the first quiet Saturday night I've had in weeks.

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Is something worth fighting for even when you know you can't win?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
The working man is a sucker.
