As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of My Day...Thursday September 2

1. Painfully made my way to school and could have cried at the realization that the day had just begun. My blistered feet hurt so much!
2. Realized that come the end of Monday, Virgo class will no longer be a concern of mine...it'll be Marrianne's!!! I have mixed feelings about losing this class cause I really like the students but there's just one kid there that kills it for me...skinny Henry! There's other issues surrounding the Virgo class but I won't go into that! But, as the cliche goes, you have to know the sweet to know the sour and so now it's oh so sweet that I don't have to deal with the sour (Ms. Sour that is).
3. Admitted that I have a bad addiction... I'm addicted to coffee! Tried to go the whole day without it but I reached a weak spot at 3pm when I entered the staff room, turned around and there it was.... the coffee stash staring at me! I gave in!
4. It's a miracle... Jimmy didn't cry today. There is hope for him yet.
5. Fifteen minutes left to work and I overhear that tomorrow the new Leo kindergarten class will be joined with my Dream and Wisdom gym class....that's 23 little 4-6yr olds running wild. And to make matters worse, my partner teacher for this class is my opposite...she's a sweet, totally tame and overly quiet lady that I fear my Wisdom and Dream class will simply ignore.
6. Had supper and coffee with Young Un and once again....he was a poor man so I forked over the cash. He's hilarious! I told him I knew the song "head and shoulders" in Korean and so we started talking about foot versus feet, and he mentioned red feet.... turns out "red feet" wasn't what he was saying. He was saying "Brad Pitt"!
7. Ran into a former co-worker, Jay. Gave her a big hug and it felt so good to see her and it felt good to see that she misses us too.
8. Went back to work to fill up water bottles and got a much deserved apology from Mr Lee for the surprise attack on my gym class tomorrow.
9. Got word that my Aunt Connie is officially breathing on her own. It's still not looking good but I believe in God and miracles. I have faith.
10. Once again, Daewoo almost got killed on our evening walk. He's a smart dog in that he knows exactly how to get home but he's not too smart cause he crosses the road without considering the racing cars and trucks. At this rate, he'll live till the end of next week!

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
What's your worse addiction?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
Don't rent your head space to someone who's going to trash it.
-- Dave (co-worker)
