As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Monday, September 18

1. Not only did I wake up late, I woke up with the world’s worse bed-head and now no ride to school. Showed up an hour late for work and that was ok but showing up and walking into an intense staff meeting, not okay. So embarrassing.
2. Broke the news to my co-teacher…. my partner in crime, Mrs. Chung. She just sat there speechless and I had to help her pick up her jaw.
3. Skipped out on lunch because I knew I’d be the center of conversations among some of my students. I had dropped the news to a student but by second period I was already being bombarded with curious students.
4. I am officially the ring-leader in my 3-2 class… the “Heartbreakers’ class” and apparently my recent break-up has won me over with the girls in the class… ha, ha, ha.
5. It was definitely interesting to note the various mixed reactions I got from numerous staff and students concerning my break-up. Some said nothing, others gave me sad faces, some gave hugs, others gave candy, and so on. However, I definitely have to say that there’s two boys who stood out from the rest. One boy asked me out for dinner and another student told me his dad and I would make a perfect couple.
6. My parent/teachers’ class started up again today. At first my class consisted of the new principle (Mr. No-Smile…oh gosh!), a co-worker who I didn’t think understood a word of English (oh gosh!!), and one parent (oh gosh!!!). So, I sought out another teacher and the vice principle (both are regular students in this class).
7. As if having the new principle in my class didn’t make me nervous enough I then had to be his partner for the activity. And if that wasn’t bad enough, I laughed when he said his favorite color was pink and apparently he didn’t seem the humor. Then… he called me a boy cause I said I love the color blue, boxing, K1 fighting, and weight training. Thankfully Mr. Jo helped me out cause I was dying in the class!!!
8. On my way home I ran into one of my students at Yawoori. She had been arguing with her boyfriend and so I thought I’d treat her to supper. She laughed at my words of advice, “Boys stink!”
9. Decided to skip out on training and doing any original plans for the evening and instead ventured over to see Yong Chan.

10. I knew I’d like Yong Chan as a new friend the moment I asked him what he wanted to do and he responded by saying he wanted ice cream. Ah…. a man after my own heart!

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Do all boys stink?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
If ice cream were a man, I'd marry him!
