As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Sunday, October 8

1. I love it how I've never smoked a day in my life and yet I woke up to the stenching smell of cigerettes. Ah... the vents! One of my neighbors must be smoking in their place and I'm having the "joy" of having to smell it.
2. I'm not too sure what I expected but I decided to search out the smoking neighbor. My search was quickly put to a stop when I knocked on the "Friendly Neighbor's" door. (The Friendly Neighbor of course being that one lady who always feels the need to hit me!) I knocked three times and she opened the door sporting a cigerette in her mouth. She giggled, hit me on the shoulder twice and then closed the door. Bingo!
3. I've convinced myself that there's no point missing Canada or that'd defeat my purpose and my experiences here in Korea... BUT... today is the one day in the year that I do wish I was in Canada. Today is Thanksgiving Day in Canada, my favorite holiday.
4. This is the second year I've missed Thanksgiving and so all day I thought about Canada and my family. I wish I was at my parent's dining room table, eating mom's Polish cabbage rolls, turkey and clumpy gravey, and listening to my dad's silly Polish jokes. Instead, my Thanksgiving meal consisted of kimchi and shabbo-shabbo. Don't get me wrong though, I love Korean food and Korea, but, there's nothing quite like a good old home cooked Thanksgiving celebration!
5. Ryan asked me to join him in Seoul and, given the fact that's he is the closest thing I have to family here and it is Thanksgiving, I got on the bus and headed to Seoul.
6. Ryan tried to win for the sweetest compliment of the day but lost to some stranger who walked up to me and, in his best attempt to speak English, told me that he wants to go to my country, and I quote, because it is "the country of beautiful women". Wow... what a line!
7. Yong Chan left for Japan today and so I was hoping to be Yong Chan free for the week but noooo... no such luck. Turns out he has roaming on his phone. Dang!
8. Experienced my first time in a Korean DVD room.... ha, ha, ha. Ryan struggled with focusing on the movie and ended up falling asleep. With 30mins left to the movie, we decided to walk out.

9. Sat beside probably the world's worst smelling man who, just my luck, wanted to speak English to me but his breath was curling my hair and so I pretended to not understand English. Ha, ha, ha.
10. Upon arriving home late from Seoul, I was greeted by what looked like the next Korean boy band! Ha, ha, ha... they were hanging out outside by building with their posh cars. I walked into the store and one followed me in. He laughed at my Korean and I laughed at his English... then his buddies laughed at us laughing...ha, ha, ha. So cute.

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Did someone say marriage?

Hey B, happy thanksgiving babe!
I wish I could mail you some cabbage rolls but well, that's just nasty.
I hope your friends are taking good care of you. Looking forward to seeing you again!
