As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Tuesday, October 3

1. First day with my new eyes! As Andi puts it, I'm a new member of the "Visions Club". I woke up today and holy sensory overload! EVERYTHING looked so different to me... so much detail I never saw before. It's awesome! So, I spent a good part of my morning looking at everything. Wow!
2. Nurse Perma (Ryan) thought it was really funny that the doctor ordered me to where these silly looking bug glasses whenever I want to sleep. I look like a pathetic oversized bee. What I think is even funnier though is a grown man getting a perm... ha, ha, ha... in Canada we'd think that's so gay!
3. The nurse from my doctor's office phoned but Nurse Perma wasn't around to translate for me and so I had to struggle with the call. I'm sure she was amused with my broken Korean. I understood most of the conversation and then just agreed with the rest of what she said... ha, ha, ha.
4. Doctors orders... no TV, no computer, no reading, no direct sunlight, no eye make-up, no bright lights... ya, that didn't last too long. Well, I stayed true to the no TV rule but today was too beautiful outside to stay in.
5. Kim Tae was suppose to show up with kimbab but instead he showed up with Byung Hyuk and the two took me out for the rest of the afternoon/evening. I love these kind of surprises. Thanks guys!
6. What was suppose to just be lunch turned into a whole afternoon and evening event. They took me over to the Independence Hall but it was closed and so we ventured around outside and chatted. Turns out the boys actually DO read my homepage and so today they lectured me about some comments I had made about love and about not getting married. They meant well but I still think they're wrong. Love shouldn't hurt and so I stay true to my anti-marriage claim. 7. Well, I lost at the silly rock-paper-scissors stair climbing game we played (who thought up this game anyways?!) and so I had to pay for supper. They opted out on Korean food and so off to Mr.Pizza we went.
8. Byung Hyuk's new phrase of the day "chickened-out"... he lost at a bet we made at dinner but chickened-out on having to kiss my feet.... ha, ha, ha. In some countries men would pay to be oh so privilaged to kiss my feet... ha, ha, ha (Mind ya, I'm not too sure what country that would be... ha, ha, ha)
9. What's up with people in Canada? Andi and Mark are going on a trip and have written a note "just in case" they don't come home and then my parents asked me for contacts "just in case" something happens to them... is there something I'm missing? Am I suppose to be doing something? Guys... relax! I got your back!
10. Hey Andi, if all else fails, send Oakley my way... I'd love to try dog... just joking! Just wanted to make you laugh though. Don't worry... you're going to have a beautiful trip. I'm totally jealous.... hope you get jet lag. Ha, ha, ha. Have fun girl!!!

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
