1. Today I had an eye doctor's appointment with Doctor Na. I was going to buy him a present for Chusuk but then Nurse Perma reminded me that he's already got one of my paychecks... ha, ha, ha. Nonetheless, I am very grateful for this man and am so happy to be the newest member of the Vision's Club.
2. Everyone was all smiles when I walked into the hospital and it was great to be able to actually see them this time...ha, ha, ha.
3. My heart totally went out to this random Korean girl who was getting her eyes tested for the surgery. I couldn't help but feel so uncomfortable, remembering the whole ordeal I went through on Monday. Oh gosh... she has NO idea what she's about to experience. I am SO glad it's over!!!
4. I've been stacking up my Galleria gift certificates and so today I thought I'd treat Nurse Perma to some shopping.. a token of appreciation for looking after me. He bought this really hot sweater and I spent way too much money on Dior lip gloss... I am addicted to lip gloss but at 32,000 won a pop (=$32 CDN), my addiction is getting rather expensive! Ha, ha, ha.
5. Dang... apparently the sales lady at Galleria isn't as dumb as she looked. I thought I'd trick her by using a gift certificate for something cheap (in anticipation that she'd give me cash back) but noooo... not only did she NOT give me cash back but she also gave me back numerous 10,000 won gift certificates. I don't think they sell anything at Galleria under 10,000 won! She knew exactly what I was doing and apparently played me at my own game!
6. While Nurse Perma and I stood in the elevator with some other random people, we noticed a really funky smell and then realized it was US! Oh my gosh... our lunch out at the bulgogi restuarant sent us away stenching of meat and smoke. So embarrassing!
7. Got invited over to my little Sue's house and when I walked in, I was bombarded with little kids running around me. Finally got to meet Sue's crush... Junior. He's only 7 but he's definitely going to be a hottie when he gets older! Way to go Sue! Ha, ha, ha.
8. Okay, okay... very funny boys! Seems like everyone has jumped on the "Amy has stinky feet" bandwagon but getting called "Princess Smelly Feet" from some random stranger (he reads my homepage apparently) just wasn't cool today. I will get you back Kim Laden (Kim Tae) and Babo (Byung Hyuk)!!! Game IS on boys!
9. Another quiet night in Cheonan caused me to go venture outside and go shopping again. Headed over to my shopping hotspot and had a hilarious time practicing my Korean. My silly Korean never fails to amuse these girls... and the new hottie that works there. Ha, ha, ha.
10. Ran into the Skin Food make-up girl I once use to hang out with. As always, she asked me if I had some Western male friends... sorry but nope, I don't. I hang with Korean boys... much love to the Koreans!
QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Have you caught on to my nicknames?
QUOTE OF THE DAY...
Shopping is the hardest thing to do.
-- Nurse Perma
As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.
