As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Saturday, November 25

1. The pain of last night continues!!! Woke up only to discover that last night I had apparently lost my favourite lip gloss! Must…have… lip…gloss! I’m an addict…ㅋㅋㅋ.
2. Had lunch at TGIF where I’m always amused at how the waitresses make me feel like a local celebrity…ㅋㅋㅋ.
3. My newest addiction (besides lipgloss… which has been a long time addiction for me) are rice ball donuts. It’s a deep fried ball of rice that’s soft and filled with red bean paste. Yummy!
4. Despite my unlikely ness towards Itaewon, I found myself venturing out there again today to go see a jacket I spotted last night.
5. Itaewon is always an “interesting” place to visit. I only come here twice a year max and so today was my second and last visit for the year. Itaewon is definitely not real Korea though but instead is a totally Americanized city filled with your local rap star wannabe’s, houchie mamas, and random geeky Western men coupling off with beautiful Korean women.
6. Opted out for the original jacket I saw and instead, fell in love with this fox-fur, lamb-skin leather jacket. It was beautiful but way too pricy for me.
7. Between the storekeeper bombarding me with flattery and Ryan bargaining for a discount, I didn’t know what was going on. I stood there, smiled, gave it my best effort at using my Korean shopping dialogue and added the occasional comment here and there. Ended up buying the jacket for 2/3rds the original price. Cool!
8. Despite now feeling desperately poor (ㅋㅋㅋ) I felt so incredibly beautiful in my new coat, which I should mention here, was the envy of many passer-byers.ㅋㅋㅋ
8. Got convinced (partly nagged, actually) to go for supper with Shin Woo, his fiancée, Woon Gyu, and Ryan. Dinner consisted of deep-fried fish, sushi, and sautéed fish… it was too fishy for me and so they offered me chicken salad… that had fish in it. I ate one fish head and that was enough for me!
9. Well, what do you know?! Ryan and I took the bus back to Cheonan and this time we took it together (as oppose to last time… we won’t go there!!!)
10. Ryan’s turned into quite the studious student. I feel asleep on the couch and woke up around 3am to find him still studying English. Impressive. I hope my Korean will be as good as his English one day!

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Do you want to touch it?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
I will not eat oysters. I want my food dead - not sick, not wounded - dead.
