As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Sunday, November 5

1. Woke up to the sound of screaming. Apparently it was my own scream that woke me up… weird! I had been dreaming that someone I knew had broken into my house and was trying to perform surgery on me. They wanted to steal my eyes. Sounds funny but it definitely wasn’t a funny dream!
2. Well it seems like everyone but me had plans for today. Ryan (ok.. so I tried to change his name but it’s not exactly working) was at his parent’s house, Kim Tae was in Seoul, Big B had friends over, Byung Hyuk lost his phone, and I was home alone and bored.
3. However, even though Big B had friends over, I got to chat with him on msn. You’re definitely moving up on my list of favourite Koreans...ㅋㅋㅋ.
4. A dude I met just recently, Jared, invited me out for a plane ride over Korea but unfortunately that never happened cause of poor phone reception in the field. He wasn’t able to call me back... dang! He and his buddies rented a plane from the Osan Air Force Base... Cool. Maybe next time boys.
5. After random emailing, fiddling around with my homepage and listening to practically every song on my computer, by 5pm I had reach such a state of pure boredom that I couldn’t have possibly been more bored!!! I was itching to go out… it was like a rash!
6. Kim Tae to the rescue! We went for a light stroll around downtown, where we rated the girls passing by (don’t ask). Then we went for coffee and ran into a pack of foreign bikers. Hey… just because they’re white and I’m white doesn’t mean I know them Kim Tae... 바보 ...ㅋㅋㅋ.
7. I’m notorious for my chatty ways but tonight Kim Tae definitely dropped the bomb on me and left me speechless. I didn’t know what to do so I got up and walked away.
8. Kim Tae waited and waited and waited and waited… and waited some more for me. I felt terribly uncomfortable and like such a bad friend. He sat outside in the cold for 3 hours until I finally realized he just wasn’t going to go home without talking to me. I came down, joined him and cried.
9. The worst part about the whole situation was the fact that there he was, someone who treats me so incredibly awesome and with such a pure, innocent, sweet heart and yet my heart is still controlled by someone who I know doesn’t really see me for the person I really am. I still need time.
10. 미안해, 절대로 네 마음을 아프게 하려는 것은 아니었어. 당신이 고통스럽다는 건 알아요... Me too. 괜찮아질꺼예요. 새로운 마음이 생기겠죠...

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
How long is this going to take?

Hi Amy,

I was the one who left a comment awhile back about liking your blog. Korean American girl(I'm really not a girl anymore, sigh..) in California. I was just in Korea for the whole month of October, but mostly in Korea and a couple days at the Pusan Film Festival.

After reading your blog for a little while, I must say that I could see the Kim Tae from a mile away. I bet others could too. Anyway, good luck with that and hope things get resolved with minimal hurt feelings.

edit ^ insert "situation coming" after Kim Tae.

Yeah, I kind of thought that's where 김태 was headed too.
I may be way off base here but if you're anything like me, you are drawn to you-know-who precisely because he is a bit aloof and distant and not drowning you every minute in attention and admiration. I think it's human nature to like a little "chase."
