1. Today it was so cold! Wow… had I not have seen so many Koreans, I would have swore I was back in Canada! Chilly! ㅋㅋㅋ
2. Returned home safe and soundly from Songtan, courtesy of Kim Tae. Thank you.
3. Slept the afternoon away and woke up with major bed-head, a hungry tummy, and my phone going crazy with too many text messages.
4. Day four of silence. What Ryan doesn’t know is that I’m showing up at his friend Shin Woo's wedding tomorrow and so I'm sure that'll break the silence. Shin Woo may not be a close friend of mine but I told him I'd show up... a promise is a promise and there’s no way I’m going to let Ryan change that. Tomorrow is an important day for many people, including me. Not going to to the wedding is not an option, so, my options for tomorrow are as follows:
a. Show up 5 minutes late, strut in and go for shock value.
b. Sit right in the front row and see if he sweats it out.
c. Bring a wedding date… ouch!
d. Show up late, leave early and ignore him in-between.
e. Be super sweet and let him eat his heart out.
f. Act like nothing happened and put on my best fake smile.
5. After months of not seeing Je Min or venturing to M-Bar, I decided to finally go see him. I’ve known him now for about 2 years. M-Bar is always the same… a packed happening bar filled with Koreans and good music. Mind ya, it seems like every time I go there, the staff has changed (with the except of Je Min and the main people). Je Min had decorated the place and so they’ve got their beautiful white Christmas tree up. I pointed out that it’s missing it’s star so Je Min’s going to change that.
6. Je Min use to be a bit on the pudgy side but lost so much weight when he had his big accident some time ago. He still hasn’t put back any of his weight and so he and his friend were highly amused at the fact that we almost weight the same!
7. Je Min is in love!
8. Walked into Kimbab Nala with Kim Tae and was shocked. The place was packed. It was a total sausage fest (men only)! But what was stranger was the fact that they were all foreign men. I think they were factory workers. It was pretty ironic and amusing that Kim Tae was the minority there….ㅋㅋㅋ!
9. Kimbab Nala lady was super curious about why I was there with another guy as oppose to Ryan and so she was all in my face with questions regarding Ryan’s whereabouts…ㅋㅋㅋ.
10. Kim Tae’s friend Myung Yeun came out and joined us for coffee. He was super shy to talk to me but nonetheless, he was very cute. Unlike Kim Tae, Myung Yeun flattered me and called me beautiful.
QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Is this your idea of a joke God?
QUOTE OF THE DAY...
God will not look you over for medals, degrees, or diplomas, but for scars.
-- Elbert Hubbard
As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.
