As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Monday, January 1

1. First day of the year 2007 and so I celebrated it by sleeping in late.
2. Started the year off right…by filling my tummy with some good food. Cooked a big Canadian breakfast for Kim Tae and me. The menu consisted of French toast, bacon and eggs.
3. At 2pm I yelled out “Happy New Year’s Canada!”… did you hear it?! According to Canada’s time, I live in the future and so let me tell you this, so far it’s been a good year.
4. Did you catch Hyun Bin on the TV awards last night? Well, just in case you didn’t see him, they played reruns today. Wow… he was just as beautiful today as he was last night, if not more. He’s got awesome hair!

5. Worked on my new year’s resolutions. Here they are:

  • 1. Be more consistent with my Korean self-studying.
    2. Cut down on ice cream.
    3. Be a better big sister to my two Korean sisters, Sue and Jenny.
    4. Read more.
    5. Quit waking up late on school days.
    6. Quit biting my nails.
    7. Find a place to volunteer.
    8. Find a home church.
    9. Learn how to play squash and tennis.
    10. Be more strict with my training routine and consistency.

6. My efforts to train Mi-Nam to pee on the newspaper apparently were successful today, excellent!
7. My efforts to train Mi-Nam to poop on the same newspaper apparently faille, big time; terrible! Oh my gosh!
8. Am convinced the man at the pet store put my dog on some kind of drug…. Mi-Nam doesn’t do anything a normal puppy does. Instead, he acts like a old dying dog and sleeps all day. He sleeps, I wake him up. I pick him up, he falls asleep in my arms. Sleep… sleep…sleep!
9. Tomorrow’s the first official day of my winter holidays and yet I’ll be going into work. My school asked me to teach some supplementary classes and so I spent a good part of my evening working on my lessons.
10. Went to sleep and Mi-Nam eagerly cuddled up to me. His snoring is soooo cute!

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Did you make your New Year's resolutions?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
Drop the last year into the silent limbo of the past. Let it go, for it was imperfect, and thank God that it can go.
