1. Headed out to Seoul, for the third day in a row. Today I went to Seoul to meet up with Jung Hyoi (Koosy). Lunch with him meant watching him eat and me sipping on the soup. I’m sorry Jung Hyoi, your intentions were very sweet, but that meat was so fatty and it was screaming “heart attack”!
2. Dragged Jung Hyoi through a few hours of shopping! I had originally intended to buy a pair of boots and some skirts for work… I want to spruce up my “Professional Woman” look. Ended up buying pretty much everything else but boots and skirts.
3. I love Korean markets. Not only can you bargin for discounts but the clothes are already so dirt cheap! Best buy of the day was a black and white wool skirt that was super cute, so pretty, and soooo cheap. It was only 5000 won (=$5 CDN).
4. I think my Korean wardrobe is complete… I have the black leggings, the long shirts, the sparkle top, the ultra short jacket, and today I completed my Korean wardrobe with a pair of gold shoes. Only in Korea can you get away wearing gold shoes. I’m sure if I wore these in Canada I’d be considered either a victim of a bad fashion trend or a prostitute. But, this is Korea and so my gold shoes are pretty.
5. After a long day of walking around and shopping, I came home to a super hyper Mi-Nam. I’m sure he had quite the lonely day and so I played ball with him in the house. I’ve been trying to teach him to grab the ball and carry it back to me. I’m proud to say, he’s now mastered the command! So cool!
6. I was too tired to venture back outside to the store and so I bought Mi-Nam some canned food at the local GS Store. He loved it. Apparently he loved it too much and so he literally inhaled it in less than 2 minutes… nasty!
7. While I was unpacking what I bought today, I realized just how much clothes I’ve gathered here in Korea in the mere two years I’ve been here…oh my gosh! ㅋㅋㅋ. It’s funny cause no matter how much clothes I have, I still continually wear the same select pieces.
8. Gave Mi-Nam a mini fashion show of all the clothes I rediscovered in my closet. In doing so, I found a secret to instantly shedding the pounds… skirts! Don’t get me wrong, I work-out and am quite happy with my body but skirts, wow. They really change my look. This is the year of the skirt!
9. Gave Kim Tae a mini fashion show. I got all dolled up in a pretty gray pencil skirt, crisp new white blouse, topped off my outfit with my new Cinderella gold shoes and then gave a little twirl in front of Kim Tae. He looked at me with wide eyes and called me pretty.
10. Turns out Kim Tae’s been secretly downloading movies on my computer… cool. So tonight’s feature flick at Cineplex-Sambu (my house…ㅋㅋㅋ) was “A Romanic Holiday”.
QUESTION OF THE DAY...
What else have you been doing when I sleep?
QUOTE OF THE DAY...
As a child my family's menu consisted of two choices: take it or leave it.
-- Buddy Hackett
As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.
