1. Spent a good chunk of my day with one of my Korean sisters… Jenny. It’s funny cause I don’t really know what to call her. She’s not one of my students from school, I’m not tutoring her, and she’s much younger than me. So, she’s my little sister. She's a cool kid though and I'm most impressed with her high manners. I'm a proud older sister...ㅋㅋㅋ
2. Well, Korea had freakish weather today and so walking out in the mini snow blizzard wasn’t really was a favourable option. So, instead, we hung out at my house and humoured ourselves with Mi-Nam.
3. Headed out to Pizza Hut for some good eating. Jenny wanted to buy me everything…ㅋㅋㅋ. We feasted on pizza and I thought I was going to explode!
4. Jenny thought I was quite the popular gal after some dudes stopped their car to talk to me, a food delivery dude offered to send me free food, and some other passer-byers said hi to me. I didn’t know any of them though and so she was quite surprised to see how some Koreans react to foreigners… I love it!
5. Made a total fool of myself today but no one saw, so I guess that means I wasn’t a fool after all. Anyway, what happened was I was trying to keep up with a music video I was watching (dancing to) and as I stepped back, I stepped on Mi-Nam’s paw. I went flying! Wow… did that ever hurt!!!
6. Opted out of going out tonight cause I was nursing a bruised head…ㅋㅋㅋ. Instead, I waited around for Kim Tae to finish work. I waited and waited… he still hadn’t shown up and so I went to sleep early
7. Then I got a call… it was Kim Tae. He got into an accident! The roads were icy and his truck went fish-tailing, out of control. He never hit anyone else but his truck slid across the road, turned up on it’s side and then crashed into a poll. Thank be to God for that poll, had it not been there his truck would have gone flipping off the side road!!!
8. Kim Tae showed up at my house… in shock, all frustrated, confused, but in one piece! His truck on the other hand, it wasn't so lucky and now looks like a sandwich.
9. By the time he had showed up, it was late. I had slept for a few hours and so I was totally re-energized. I was jumping up and down, running around with my boxing gloves on, and was way too hyper.
10. Ended up staying up way too late. I think I went to bed close to 4am, maybe.

As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.
