1. Although I went to Seoul yesterday and I’m not particularly fond of that city, today Kim Tae and I decided to do some shopping. I had skipped out on Christmas shopping this year in attempt to spare myself the tears but with my trip to Canada fast approaching, I thought it’d be nice to pick up a few things for my family. So off to Seoul we went.
2. Definitely one of the top highlights of my day was when I was approached in the subway tunnel. Someone tapped me on the shoulder, I turned around and there stood Jenn. She gave me a big warm Canadian hug! We’ve never met in person before, we haven’t even talked in the phone but we’ve met via the internet. I’m a fan of her blog as she is mine! It was so cool!
3. I’m sure Kim Tae was sick of hearing me say, “That was sooo cool!” but, it was so cool meeting Jenn. To think, here we are, two Canadian gals in Korea. We read each other’s blog with no real expectation to meet each other and yet here we are in Seoul, crossing paths. What’s the chances, eh?!
5. Well our little shopping trip wasn’t so successful. We ended up getting lost… or should I say, I ended up searching for the wrong place. I didn’t buy anything for anyone and so I’ll have to go back next weekend…ahhh!
6. As if I thought meeting Jenn was the only one I’d be so lucky to meet today, as it turns out, I got to meet Kim Tae’s father. He ended up meeting up with us so that he could get his house key. The thought of meeting his father made me a bit nervous. I did a quick check of my make-up and hair and then prepared myself for the worst.
7. Turns out Kim Tae’s father is the Korean version of my father… he’s super small, short, really friendly and so cute! He greeted me with a big smile and then shocked me with his English! He didn’t speak great English but he tried hard and so I thought that was awesome. I really respect him for his attempt!
8. It was quite chilly shopping outside today and so Kim Tae and I sought refuge in a cozy little restaurant. That marked the end of our shopping and so shortly after we went home to Cheonan.
9. Ah Cheonan… it’s nice to venture out but nothing feels better than coming home!
10. My house is officially the new DMZ. I’m not too sure what’s wrong but for a dog so small he sure produces a smell that’s SO big! I’m serious! His poop is so smelly and so from now on he’ll be occasionally referred to as the Dong Master (dong meaning “poop” in Korean…ㅋㅋㅋ) And, because my home is also Mi-Nam, aka the Dong Master’s, home, my house is the Dong Master Zone…DMZ. ㅋㅋㅋ.

As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

So wild that you met Jenn that way! When I first saw the pic of the two of you at the top of your post, I thought, "Aw--they contacted one another and met up!" Considering the masses of people in Seoul, it just makes it all the more amazing that you bumped into one another. Crazy!
