1. Today was my last official teaching day at Eumbong Middle School. Thankfully these last few classes have been supplementary winter classes and so I’ve technically already said good-bye to my students. Nonetheless, it was sad.
2. Finished empting out my stuff from Eumbong (desk and classroom stuff) and so my students were loving it. I tried to pass off as much stuff possible to them instead of having to lug it home with me. So, they got some pretty cool freebies.
3. One of the things that has traveled with me from place to place is a picture of me with my grade 6 teacher, Mr. Alston. When I came to Eumbong this picture was the first thing I added to my desk. Mr. Alston is one of my favourite teachers and definitely one of my role models. When I was in elementary school he secretly included one of my poems into a school wide contest. Only two entries from my whole school got published in a book and mine was one of them! I’ll never forget that. I got him to sign my book and I was so amazed at just how much he believed in me. He was always so encouraging to me. I can only hope and pray that I’ll have such an impact on my students. I want to be their Mr. Alston!
4. I am never good with good-byes and so I was hoping to treat today just like any other teaching day. I was hoping to quietly slip out and catch the bus with my students. Well, they caught me.
5. Some of the teachers and staff members treated me out for lunch and so that was sweet. Unfortunately my partner in crime, Mrs. Jeong, wasn’t at school today and so I never got to have her come out.
6. Came home pretty bummed out and so I cuddled up to my blanket and Mi-Nam for a nice afternoon nap.
7. Opted out of training tonight and instead danced around the house with Mi-Nam. I’m working on my next music video dance routine…ㅋㅋㅋ
8. With a little over two weeks to go before my trip to Canada, the butterflies have already started. I actually quite nervous because I know I have changed so much. Maybe some of my friends and I won’t click anymore. Then there’s the fact that I’m meeting up with various guys I use to date but have since kept in touch. I’ll be seeing my former boxing trainer, Egerton, and so I fear I’m not as strong as I use to be.
9. Definitely feeling the pressure of this trip. I know I should be celebrating the opportunity to see everyone but so much time has past. Maybe we won’t meet each others’ expectations.
10. Had a movie date tonight. We went to go see “Déjà vu”, starring Denzel Washington. I sat there at the back with my hot dog and date…. It was awesome.
QUESTION OF THE DAY...
What's the difference between a boy and a man?
QUOTE OF THE DAY...
Boys will be boys.

As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.
