1. Had my first day of supplementary classes today and it went very well. While other students were sleeping in late and playing with their friends, I had the pleasure of being surprised with an awesome group of level 1 students. I thought I’d have a hard time with these extra classes cause I was under the impression that these classes were for the the lower students but it was quite the opposite.
2. After class I took the bus home. I boarded the bus and was greeted with various stares from the country folk. As I sat down I then heard someone repeatedly call out my name from the back of the bus. There sat one of my Wollang elementary students, Joe. He was so smiley and urged me to sit with him. So cute.
3. Turns out either my training skills are lacking or Mi-Nam is lacking in intelligence cause I came home to the nastiest of all messes. Oh my gosh. My house looked like a bomb had gone off. I’m talking about newspaper everywhere, my clothes scattered around and yup, you guessed it… poop on the floor. If he wasn’t so cute I’d feed him to my neighbours…ㅋㅋㅋ.
4. Realized why Mi-Nam loves sleeping so much… cause it’s so cozy. I took an afternoon nap and had allowed Mi-Nam to share a pillow with me. He’s snoring was just too cute but it really relaxing to listen to.
5. My afternoon nap with Mi-Nam was interrupted by none other than Yong Chan!!! Yes, just when I thought stalker boy had disappeared, he reappeared. He’s in Orlando, Florida on a golfing tour.
6. Yong Chan rambled on for about 15 minutes before he stopped and then asked me what all the noise was. Turns out he could hear Mi-Nam snoring beside me. I didn’t tell him it was my dog though, instead, I let him believe I had a boyfriend….ㅋㅋㅋ.
7. Joined up with Kim Tae and Byung Hyuk for supper at the pumpkin restaurant and then we headed off to a singing room. They both have awesome voices and so I came purely to enjoy their singing.
8. We all agreed that this is going to be OUR year. No more distractions… this year I’m putting my friendship with Kim Tae and Byung Hyuk as a top priority.
9. Apparently Byung Hyuk is super camera shy and so, as a joke, he erased all my pictures of him from my camera. Well…. This lead to a big wrestling match. I bit his hand and then he took off, out the singing room and down the street. I, of course, love a good chase and so I took my boots off and chased after him. Ya, I know, not so mature of us but it was so funny.
10. At the end of our evening it was clear both of us would be waking up tomorrow with evidence of this evening’s activities. I sprained my ankle a little, could already feel a bruise forming on my elbow and leg, and as for Byung Hyuk, he’s got a huge bump on his hand from where I bit him. It looks more like a pack of crazy mosquitoes attacked his hand…ㅋㅋㅋ. As for Kim Tae… no marks. While our whole wrestling match went down, he sat there and kept on singing…ㅋㅋㅋ.
QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Why did you ask him for a cigarette?
QUOTE OF THE DAY...
In a friend you find a second self.
-- Isabelle Norton
As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.
