As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Wednesday, January 3

1. Waited and waited… Mr. Science Teacher never showed up. He was suppose to drive me to school today. Turns out he slept in and so I had to taxi it. Turns up all the other teachers slept in too! When I showed up at school, students were roaming the halls and all the classrooms were locked. Hmm…
2. My supplementary class students are awesome! Today we had lots of fun and giggled a lot. I only have 10 students in the class and so it’s perfect. I’m really going to miss these kids.
3. Mr. Science Teacher wanted to apologize by treating me out for lunch but I opted out. Yesterday I wasn’t home very much and so Mi-Nam made a disaster. There was no way I was going to let that happen two days in a row.
4. Shopping at LotteMart, $36; clothes shopping, $80; discovering that Mi-Nam eats his poop, PRICELESS…. Not to mention one of the most disgusting things I’ve ever tried to wrap my brain around…oh my gosh! ㅋㅋㅋ
5. Attempted to bathe Mi-Nam. It was terrible! I first tried to bathe him in the sink but I ended up almost losing my eyes and one or two layers of skin as he tried to climb out of it. Then, I moved him to the bathroom, where I tried to give him a light shower but that resulted in me banging my head on the bottom of the sink and him hiding behind the toilet. Next time I’m hiring a professional!
6. After such a traumatic experience, both Mi-Nam and I were exhausted and so we both passed out on the couch for about an hour.
7. I love Mi-Nam. Today while I was lying there looking at him, it really hit me that this little guy is going to be in my life for the next 13 years, at least. Cool! So today I worked on his training. Today he mastered
7. Text messages from friends in Canada… I love it!!! The countdown is on baby… in 24 days I’ll be ending all my sentences with “eh” and will be having a well-deserved holiday from over 2 years of kimchi and rice EVERYDAY!!!
8. So cool… last year I met a girl in Korea, Jenn. We became good friends and it turned out that we were from neighboring hometowns in Canada, so wild! Well, she’s been living quite the life on a cruise ship the past six months and, as fate would have it, she’s heading into Canada a few days after me.
9. Late night phone calls from Mr. Pak…what’s up with that?! Last week I took a taxi ride to a friend’s house. The driver’s name was Mr. Pak. He offered me his card and told me to call him if I ever need a ride. So, yesterday I called him up cause, well, obviously I needed a ride somewhere. It was great and I was really impressed. I walked out of my building and there stood Mr. Pak in a suit. He opened the car door and then took me to my friend’s house, free of charge.
10. Turns out my dad was right… nothing in life comes for free. Yesterday’s “free” drive meant he then felt free to text message and call my cell phone. My buddies are right… I think he’s a playboy; a player. Nevertheless, his taxi is totally luxurious and really impressive.

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Are you alive Andi?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
Where you used to be, there is a hole in the world, which I find myself constantly walking around in the daytime, and falling in at night.
-- Edna St. Vincent Millay
