1. Treated myself to a new pair of super funky earrings, oranges for Kim Tae, and for my little man (Mi-Nam) I bought him some clothes. He’s got super short white fur but it seems to be attracted to my black clothes and so I thought I’d make him wear a shirt around the house… as oppose to running around naked…ㅋㅋㅋ.
2. Bought this super cute blue hooded shirt for him but I especially love the red track suit I bought him. It’s a hooded little jacket with matching pants. Now he’s quite the hottie now… look out little ladies. My little boy is sporting some hot threads…ㅋㅋㅋ.
3. Turns out Mr. Fruit Truck Man English is higher than I gave him credit for. He asked me how long I’ll be staying in Korea and well, I have no idea. I came here thinking I’d stay one year and just recently I signed on to my third year. Maybe I’m a lifer!
4. Am convinced Mi-Nam is a better dancer than Kim Tae and that doesn’t say much, considering Mi-Nam is a dog…ㅋㅋㅋ.
5. Spent a good part of my day planning tomorrow’s test for my supplementary class. Real nice… it’s my last day teaching at Eumbong and I’m celebrating it by giving one last test…ㅋㅋㅋ.
6. Had a wicked training session and am sure to wake up tomorrow sporting some sore arms… I’m such a guy when it comes to training. I love the burn!
7. Left myself totally shocked and Kim Tae impressed as I rapped out the entire lyrics to Sir Mix A lot’s “Baby’s got back”. I know, I know… I should be embarrassed at admitting that I memorized this song. It’s so bad!
8. Oh my gosh…. Got word that my best friend back in Canada, Andi, might be pregnant! Sooooo cool! I’m really hoping that she’s pregnant cause I know her and her husband Mark are going to be the coolest parents. Congrats Andi and all the best!
9. Can’t help but wonder what the heck happened to me… while all my friends are enduring long term relationships, getting married, starting careers, buying a house and car, and are contemplating how many children they want, here I am in Korea. The love of my life consists of a four-legged creature that drools on my floor (Mi-Nam) and my job as a teacher.
10. Scared at the idea that I may one day turn into my high school social studies teacher, Ms. Ross. As far as I know it, she grew old and alone. Her life focused on teaching and the only one she loved was her super furry, ugly cat. Oh my gosh… I’m turning into Mrs. Ross!
QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Will I ever settle down?
QUOTE OF THE DAY...
So cosmo says you’re fat, well I aint down with that. Cuz your waste is small and your curves are kickin....To the bean pole dames in the magazines: You ain’t it, Miss Thing! Give me a sista, I can’t resist her. Red beans and rice didn’t miss her
-- Sir Mix A lot
As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Amy.
Your obcessing about marriage. Your married friends in Canada are probably envious of your situation.Korea is a little different but from a Western viewpoint you are still young and have plenty of time for marriage later."The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence".You are a very attractive person in many ways. You will not last that much longer(being single that is).The lucky guy.
Dear Anonymous,
Thanks for the comment and compliment but I'm not that obsessed with marriage... ok, maybe a little.
It's kind of scary to think that I use to be engaged and then I walked away from everything. No it seems like the older I get, the more unstable I seem to be getting.
I know I am still young but I'm not getting younger and so lately I've been thinking about my future. I stepped away from my current teaching position to persue one that's more of a career and so that's just the start of the new me.
