1. My day was actually quite lazy. I had originally planned to do numerous things but ended up hanging out at Kobe’s house all day.
2. We sat around chatting and giggling. Then he showed me his work and I showed him various pictures on my homepage. It’s funny cause although we just met less than a week ago, I feel like I know him longer. We click… it’s as simple as that.
3. For lunch, Kobe made me ramyun… he even included the egg. Awesome! I was so happy sitting there eating my ramyun. It took me forever to eat it though I was totally savoring it…ha, ha, ha.
4. Caught myself saying, “I wish I lived in Canada”… wow, that’s a first! A lot has happened since I arrived in Canada, more than just visiting friends I mean. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking. Don’t get me wrong, I love Korea but what’s Korea going to be like for me down the line, in the future?! Anyway… like Kobe said, I think too much. Maybe he’s right.
5. Well, after a totally lazy (but definitely enjoyable) day, I came home, showered and then my friend Arpi picked me up. I haven’t seen him in two years. He still looks the same but he claims I look a bit Korean…ha, ha, ha.
6. Off to the casino we went. Mind ya, on our way we failed to see the police car we went speeding by. He definitely saw us and so then we got pulled over. No worries though… no ticket, no points… nothing, just a warning. Sweet! Arpi claims I’m his lucky charm
7. Visiting Casino Niagara was definitely a first for me. I was more interested in watching the people and studying the game than actually playing. I humored Arpi by playing Black Jack and yelling out “Black John”… lol.
8. I found it quite interesting at the amount of young girls dressed like they like club goers. They’re dressed in their mini skirts, short dresses, tall heels, and even shorter low-cut tops. Can you say, “Gold diggers”?! Ha, ha, ha. Regardless of what they were doing, it was just too much.
9. Arpi played poker and so I sat back and tried to take in the scene. Let’s see, at our table there was the student who made it quite known he wanted to win his tuition.. but lost, the rich but secluded man, the desperate housewife, the snobby hardcore gambling woman, and then there was Arpi and me… the two “just here to have fun” people. What a bunch of characters!!!
10. As we were leaving, I noticed some guy near the water fountain taking pictures of me, some young guy and his buddy actually. I don’t know what that was all about!
QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Are there casinos in Korea?
QUOTE OF THE DAY...
Show me the money baby!
-- from the movie "Jerry McQuire"
As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Hey Amy............
I hope all is well in Canada and that everything will sort itself out in terms of visa cards, passports etc.....
I am so interested to know what you have been up to, since I just returned from there too, so I have been checking your blog like 5 times a day.
When I was at home hanging out with my friends, it seemed as if I didn't even leave Canada. Korea became somewhat of a dream or memory that happened long long ago.
.......thinking eh???? ummmm that is all I ever do and sometimes I just wish I could SHUT MY BRIAN OFF. I even think about not thinking.......ahhhhh. Anyways, it's interesting to go home and see where everyones life is at and then compare it to yours. All my friends just recently got full-time career jobs..............wow, career........I can't even think about that right now.
Even though I totally love my life in Korea, I am somewhat unsure of how it will impact my future -- especially when all my friends are out there working......it's almost as if I will be BEHIND when I do return to Canada (not sure when that will be). Anyways, I always am thinking about this stuff so when i stumbled across your webpage and realized that we have a lot in common it gave me some reassurance that what life choices I made were okay. Someone else was in my boat, so to speak.
I could go on forever so I will stop. But I do hope one day we can maybe get together and discuss some of these things........at least to bounce some ideas off of each other, if anything at all.
So what do you think??
