As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Thursday, February 8

1. Oh ya baby... things are finally getting resolved here. Today York called and so I was able to pick my degree certificate. This was definitely amazing news to wake up to considering I ordered it yesterday and usually you have to wait a month... sweet!
2. Definitely had some flash backs of York while walking around the campus. Campus was thriving with super young tarts and so I couldn't help but laugh at the fact that I was once one of those overly hyper, giggly university freshman. I'd like to think I'm now mature but I know I'm still pretty giggly.
3. Before I moved to Korea I was highly involved in my training at Egerton Marcus' Boxing Academy here in Toronto, well, today I called him up and got word that his gym went under (long story there). I was so shocked and felt so bad for him. Egerton holds an Olympic silver medal in boxing and has a huge passion for teaching boxing. His gym was his pride and joy.
4. Egerton and I use to train one-on-one and so we really got to bond and develop a wicked relationship that went way beyond throwing punches at each other in the ring. And so, when he asked me to help him train a client this upcoming Tuesday I jumped at the opportunity to help him out. It really sucks that I haven't been able to help him out cause of living in Korea.
5. I had plans with some of my Bloor boys at Byrdens. I arrived early and was totally shocked to run into my buddy Mikee; it was awesome seeing him.
6. Had a good laugh when two of my buddies, Chris and Sean gave me double looks and totally checked me out. They had no idea it was me. I'm not a hyper blond anymore.. ha, ha, ha.
7. Mark and Andy came out and so that was so fun. Andy was fasinated with how lady-like I am now, Mikee was still so shocked he ran into me, and Mark was highly amused with my Korean stories and the currency.
8. I knew planning such a long vacation in Canada could possibly pose a problem. I feared I'd get back into my routine of things, adjust to it all and then get attached again. That's EXACTLY what has happened, if not worse! Seeing my Bloor boys tonight totally confirmed it for me. I miss late night bike rides and back porch chats with Mikee, jokes and silly times with my only Polish friend Andy, working out and picking Mark's brain about boxing, afternoon coffee at Starbucks with them, doubling on my BMX, and just being around them.
9. Apparently Andy has finally forgived me for stuffing my bikini bottems in his apartment mail slot. It's a long story but the short of it is that Mikee and I broke into his building cause I found out Andy had lied to me about something and so we thought we'd seek a little revenge. Our revenge didn't really work but it got the message across and still makes for an awesome conversation piece...ha, ha, ha.
10. Two years later and yet there we were, joking around and talking as if it was two years ago. I guess it's true than, true friendship doesn't change even though time does. I will be back, if not for myself but for friends like these. I miss those guys so much and I didn't realize it till I came here. I went from seeing them everyday to seeing them once in two years... hurts.

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
When will I be back?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
The most beautiful discovery true friends make is that they can grow separately without growing apart.
