As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Thursday, February 15

1. Last full day in Canada and I'm really struggling with having to say good-bye to everyone here.
2. Meet up with Graeme and Madi for lunch downtown and I got thinking about how it's funny how those who I was sure would have kept in contact with me since my move to Korea, haven't and yet others have surprised me with lots of emails. My move to Korea has definitely brought me much closer to Madi and Graeme... awesome.
3. I know my co-workers at the middle school will be expecting a Canadian souvenior but there's about 30 of them and I'm strapped for cash, soooo... Graeme and I hit a dollar store and stocked up on Smarties... 32 boxes of Smarties. Ha, ha, ha.
4. The case of the mysterious disappearing parking pass?! Hmm... I could have sworn Graeme bought a parking pass but when we returned, it was gone and in it's place was a bright yellow parking ticket! We searched and searched, but to no luck. Ha, ha, ha. We were so confused.
5. Hit System Fitness for one last training session until I leave. Trained with my buddy Nic but was surprisingly interupted by this guy I use to call Orange Peel. I guess I should explain his name... have you ever peeled a piece of orange and seen all the pores within the piece? Ya, well, that's what his body looks like... ripped to the max! Anyway, turns out he remembered all this stuff about me and I thought that was crazy cause he's never said more than a few words to me when I use to train there.
6. Orange Peel was all excited to hear about Korea and was even more eager to have me call him Orange Peel again, for old time sake....ha, ha, ha. He use to call me Lollipop.
7. Talk about pure amusement...oh my gosh! Apparently Rulla (older women who works at System), is totally more old school than we thought. Doug and I had asked her to take a picture of us with my digital camera. I turned it on, she pointed it at us but then she turned it around and took a picture of her teeth. We thought it was funny until we realized that she seriously had no idea what she was doing and then we laughed even harder! Oh my gosh!
8. Packed my bags... well, kind of. I still haven't figured out how I'm going to pack all these shoes I bought! Got kind of sad packing and so I called it a night.
9. Hung out with Alisha's roomates, Eric and Matt for one last time. Eric amused me with his wii boxing (it's a new interactive game system) and Matt gave me some more advice. My friend (and their friend too) J came over and so that was great to see him one last time before I leave.

10. Had my last official meal in Canada with Kobe and what does he feed me... ice cream! Ice cream was (and still is) the way to my heart but I can't say I've ever made a meal out of it unless you count that one time when I was a little girl. My friend Jennifer had scooped too much ice cream for me and so my mom made me eat it for breakfast the next day... yikes! Anyway, tonight's ice cream was dangerously delicious! It was nutella ice cream with white chocolate shavings, roasted cashews, served on a waffle with whipped cream and ozzing with fudge sauce.

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
A great man is like ice cream, do you know why?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream.
