As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Tuesday, February 6

1. Woke up and realized that this time last week, I had my purse… that bites!
2. It seems like the more I try to get over it (and trust me, it’s hard) the more “what-ifs” people throw in my face. I know, I know… what if this happened,.. what if that happened… But hey, what if I did turn around, see the purse and then drove away. Who knows what would have happened then. Maybe me leaving 1 minute earlier meant I avoided being involved in a tragic car crash. I know it seems drastic, but hey, you never know but I can’t play these “what-if” games anymore.
3. Well I did it… I skipped out on getting my favorite salon stylist to do my hair and instead, dyed my hair myself.
4. Chatted on msn with one of my former roommates from back in the day… Sonja. She’s since moved to Mexico and then back to Vancouver. Our former neighbor, on the other hand, Darren (notoriously known as Danger Boy) has got married and now has a baby… wow! Totally didn’t see that coming but that’s cool. Congrats Darren.
5. Matt you’re a genius! I’ve totally been spilling my beans to him about my whole passport/work visa situation since day one and so he’s been great with giving me ideas and feedback. Today we figured out a perfect, fool-proof, totally simple game plan… go back to Korea and then once all the paper work is done, go to Japan. It’s perfect! Now I just have to sell the idea to my university in Korea.
6. For dinner I met up with Dean. He’s still a super cute guy and is very successful but he just can’t relax. Me living in Korea has definitely relaxed me and made me more of a home-body but with him, whether he was trying to hug me or fiddling with his chicken wings, he just couldn’t sit still.
7. It was nice reminiscing with him and I was quite interested in how he explained why I stopped dating him over 3 years ago. He still thinks we’re destined to be together and so he tried hard to convince me to not go back to Korea and was quite eager to look after me if I were to agree.
8. Dean had a good laugh looking at my pictures from Korea. He was especially curious about the “free hugs” pictures. Jokingly, he told me to make a “touch me” sign and walk around Korea… ya, right! It was a hilarious suggestion though.
9. Dean's a hockey freak and so we headed out for dinner and watched the game... watched the boys in blue win the hockey game! Awesome… way to go Toronto Maple Leafs! Maybe it’s Alish kiss to McCabe that won the game for us cause tonight he was on fire! Ha, ha, ha.
10. Dropped by Bryden’s, my old stomping grounds. None of my friends were there except Tash but then again, he has to be there. He works there. It was a pure sausage fest and so I lasted 2 minutes before I was approached. A couple minutes later, I left.

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Do you think before you talk?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
What you need to know about the past is that no matter what has happened, it has all worked together to bring you to this very moment. And this is the moment you can choose to make everything new. Right now.
