1. Got treated out to lunch by Pretty Boy. We chowed down on some awesome Korean bulgogi (pork) and left smelling like it too…..hehehe.
2. Thankfully we had enough time for me to pop back at my house and sprit on some perfume. I love Korean food but it’s not too cool walking into a packed classroom smelling like you just came from some massive BBQ cook-out.
3. With Ki Dong out of the office for the next month cause of his school practicum, I felt kind of lonely at my desk. Ki Dong sits right across from me and so we’re always chatting up a storm. Sunny is taking his place for the time being; she’s cool.
4. I love my job!!!
5. Today some of my students saw Pretty Boy bring in my students’ books and so right before class, some of my students surprised me by bombarding me in the office. They carried my books for me, made me coffee, gave me candy and then walked me to class. I guess they were really happy with the midterm marks I gave them…hehehe.
6. Still not done marking the midterms or workbooks… yikes! Time is ticking too fast!
7. Originally headed out to LotteMart for a picture frame but came back with a couple bags of groceries. Mind ya, about half of my groceries consisted of milk…. Banana milk, low-fat milk. I still the notorious “Milk Muncher” as my roommate use to call me. Hehehe!
8. Out with the old, in with the new… I guess. Finally got around to changing my homepage. Instead of scrolling down my page everyday and seeing “their” faces, I opted for a fresh new introduction. Don’t get too use to it though. In less than three weeks I hope to unveil my secret and so I’ll definitely be looking to change my intro!
9. Stayed up way too late working on my homepage, emailing friends and listening to music. Tomorrow’s my day off but I have to go out to Songtan to see Gangster Boy. He’s leaving Korea on Friday and so I guess I kept myself distracted tonight so that I didn’t have to think about saying good-bye to him.
10. Well, NO ONE guessed correctly regarding my 5 truths and 2 lies. Thanks for the emails though, very amusing. So, here’s the inside scoop regarding each.
a. TRUTH. I use to do hair modelling back when I was in university.
b. LIE. I speak French, English and Korean. I am Polish but because I’ve lived so long away from home, I don’t have a good handle on it.
c. TRUTH. It’s on the back of my neck… it’s Korean writing.
d. TRUTH. Back in university I bartended at a club that was rougher than I let people know. It was run by a biker gang and so fights were a common thing. I definitely got into my fair share of fights working there but getting stabbed was definitely a scary fight.
e. LIE. I’ve read the New Testament twice but haven’t gotten around to reading the Old Testament.
f. TRUTH. Because of my hair modeling, I’ve been on City Line (Toronto talk show) and a couple of commercials. Moreover, I’ve also been on Fashion Police (Makeover show) and Global News, but my most notorious debut was when I starred on Matchmaker…. It’s a dating show in which I was set up on a blind date and the whole dated was shown on TV. It’s been years since I was on it but people to this day still comment about it and occasionally they air it on TV.
g. TRUTH. As much as I try to stay away from dairy products, I am “The Milk Muncher” and me discovering banana milk is definitely not helping my situation…Hehehe!!!
QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Are you surprised?
QUOTE OF THE DAY...
For me, words are a form of action, capable of influencing change.
-- Ingrid Bengis
As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.
