1. Raced off to Seoul for my Korean language class. Took an early bus but got caught in traffic and so I arrived late.... ahhh, I can't stand people who are late and I can't stand students who don't do their homework... today I was the very student I can't stand. I blame it on having to focus on my boxing though.
2. Am still sporting my black eye and so I treated myself to a pair of posh eye glasses... hehehe. I like my black eye but I don't really care for the "does her boyfriend beat her?!" looks I got from people in Seoul today. No... my boyfriend doesn't beat me, oh please. My boyfriend cries in movies for goodness sake... hehehe.
3. Discovered MAC Cosmetics in Seoul today and so I had a field day there!!! It's funny cause growing up, I never was into name brand stuff, but now, it's a whole different story. I only wear Adidas clothing when training, I adore D'oir and MAC, and Anna Sui is my woman when it comes to the perfect lipgloss.
4. I am no longer the Cheonan side show freak and instead now the proud owner of nine and a half toe nails... hehehe. About a month ago, while playing with Mi Nam, one of my big toe nails spontaneously popped off... well, Mi Nam chewing on my toes played a role there. I tried to keep it a secret from Q, I was quite embarrassed actually. I even went so far as to paint the skin with nail polish... hehehe.
5. Am now the proud owner of probably the ONLY Lady Speed stick in Cheonan, South Korea... hehehe. That ghetto stuff I bought at LotteMart was like spray paint... caking my under arms with a nasty white thick gunk. Thanks to my Mama Bere though for her surprise package filled with Lady Speed stick, Trident gum, Crest toothpaste, and oatmeal... the four things I never seem to have enough and addicted to!!! Q and I had a mini taste test tonight... Crest vs. some random Korean brand. Crest kicked major butt for it's freshness and cool colour.
6. Boxing today wasn't as productive as I had hoped it to be... lots of side issues at play during training. My not-so-secret admirer was preoccupied with giving Q the evil eye every time Q talked to me, Junior Mint was preoccupied with teasing Q about me, I was preoccupied with thoughts of my game haunting me, and Milk Dud was preoccupied with random dance moves (not too sure what was up with that... hehehe).
7. Junior Mint lectured me about letting go of last Saturday's game... I just can't seem to though. I wish I could.
8. I'm such a good girlfriend... I think so, hehehe. Today I loaded up on bathroom goodies at the Body Shop for Q, then I made him one of my notoriously delicious egg sandwiches after boxing and then took him out to the movies.
9. Spring is almost here, I can feel it, and so tonight I pulled out my jean skirt from the bottom of the closet and treated Q to some pure eye candy with my Polish legs and kick-a$$ brown boots. Q said I was the prettiest Polish girl at the movie theater... very funny. I was the ONLY Polish girl there.
10. Saw the movie "Vantage Point" and for those who haven't seen it... GO SEE IT!!! It was awesome. I loved the writing style and how the story (stories) were presented. My faith in good writing, as we know it, has definitely been restored thanks to this movie. Definitely a two thumbs up.
QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Since when did I become such an expensive gal?
QUOTE OF THE DAY...
People are like stained glass windows: they sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light within.
-- Elizabeth Kubler-Ross
As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Oh, how I miss Crest toothpaste! Nothing else compares! (I never realized how toothpaste elitist I was until coming to Korea)
Glad to hear that spring is on its way there in Korea. My hubby is off to his homeland on Tuesday (for 3 weeks) and I reminded him the other day that he should pack spring wear since it's usually beautiful there in March. I so envy him; I wish I were going to Korea so badly!
Hey Lisa,
Oh yes... Crest is a beautiful, beautiful thing ;) I find that toothpaste in Korea tastes so blah and doesn't leave me with that fresh feeling.
Dear Beloved,
Ahhh... you should come with him!!! That'd be awesome if you came, we could have a kind of blogger meet up... hehehe.
Hope your hubby has a safe flight and an enjoyable trip.
