As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Sunday, June 29

1. Studying turned out to be real productive (note the sarcasm here… hehehe) with Q over. Five minutes into studying, he ended up passing out on the coach.

2. Sundays are officially my lazy day, filled with late mornings, afternoon naps, and vegging out in the evenings and I’m totally looking forward to greeting the next 9 Sundays with all-day mad bed head, morning breath and eye crusties in the afternoon, and no particular place to go except the fridge and the bathroom!!!

3. Sundays are also my main cleaning day and so today we scrubbed, washed, vacuumed, and cleaned the whole house. Q volunteered for the “lovely” job of taking my bathroom sink drain apart and unclogging the massive nasty clump of hair.

4. Students continue to hunt me down, via email, despite classes being long over. The irony being that it’s students who didn’t even so much say “boo” in class that are now bombarding my email account with long letters and pleading emails. “Sixteen weeks… sixteen weeks” I say, that’s how long they had to easily earn the passing mark that they NOW care about. Too much, too late.

5. Am seriously becoming addicted to kimchi jigga as today marked the third time this week that I’ve eaten it. Today we went to this tiny little restaurant where we once ate, like about 5 months ago. The manager happily greeted us at the door and went on about how he remembered us.

6. With Q coming over to my house practically every minute he possibly can, my grocery bill has officially doubled and now my fridge is packed the brim. Water bottles and food now sit by the fridge, waiting their turn to get in… hehehe.

7. Watch out for those walls, they tend to NOT move.. or so some Korean woman failed to realize as she crashed her car into the wall of Emart’s parking garage, sending her car flying from the sixth level. Seriously… I’m not joking here. That’s what happened today in Seoul. Some woman when barging through the wall and died in front of local traffic and so as a result parking security was at a high today at the stores. It’s pretty sad but honestly, what was she thinking?!!

8. Did the unthinkable… order a large pizza with Q and I ate half of it!!!

9. … and it felt sooooooooo good!!!

10. With my air conditioner still broken (been like that for a year… hehehe), tonight I felt like I was sticking to everything. Poor Mi Nam was panting like he had just run a marathon and so we were forced to carry the floor fan around with us. Korea summers are killer… and it’s only June, oh gosh!!!

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Will I ever get bored of being bored?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
We tend to forget that happiness doesn't come as a result of getting something we don't have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have.
