Highlights of my Day... Thursday, June 12

1. Super short classes on an already super short work day meant I was done by noon.... sweet. Mind ya, next week's interview exams are going to use me and abuse me... and send me home completely drained and exhausted.

2. Have reached a conclusion. I am not adopting Mr. Wrinkles and not because he'll get big or because he may boss around Mi Nam but, instead, because I adopted Mi Nam as a means of mending my broken heart (mind ya, Diane, thanks for those pictures. You were right, it'd be a massive dog that would surely over power Mi Nam). Back when I went through my horrible breakup with my ex, for months Mi Nam had to deal with my tears and moping around the house. He did his job though, he mended my heart, now it's my turn. Mi Nam isn't broken hearted but maybe adding another pup into the house would depress him and break his heart.

3. Like Vbuuren said, Mi Nam's use to being the man of the house, and so, on that note, I've decided that maybe I should "upgrade" Mi Nam's life... more trips to the doggie spa and, perhaps, signing him up for doggie daycare. Right now Mi Nam lives within a one block radius, meaning, he's world only consists of downtown Cheonan. Only once has he ventured out of downtown and that was well over a year ago when Kim Tae and I took him on a picnic. He loved the picnic but hated the car ride. No sooner had we started up the car but he pucked. This summer I plain on correcting that. I want him to get use to car rides... mind ya, Q's Galloper truck is more like a roller coaster :(

4. First thing on the list for upgrading Mi Nam's life, find him some friends. The KBS writer called today and asked me if Mi Nam had any friends. I thought for a minute but then said, "No". He does have one friend though, the dry cleaning man. Every time we walk by his shop, the dry cleaning man comes out, gives Mi Nam a good smack on the bum and then rubs his head. Mi Nam likes him... hehehe.

5. Tonight the dry cleaning man proved to be quite a friend to Mi Nam by chasing off the two trouble maker dogs that live down the street. Their owner had let them loose and despite them both being like the size of Mi Nam's head, they show no fear to Mi Nam, chase him down and Mi Nam gets all freaked out. But tonight, wow, at an age clearly over 45, the dry cleaning man rushed out of his shop at the sight of the trouble maker dogs approaching Mi Nam. He chased them dog the street with his arms flailing as he yelled at them. It was quite the sight actually. Mi Nam thanked him by with a licking his toes... not exactly the common thing to do, I know, but in Mi Nam's world, he only licks the toes of those he loves... hehehe.

6. Tonight at boxing Junior Mint egged me on and teased me while I was trying to skip. He yelled at me to skip faster and when I failed to skip as fast as he wanted, he then proceeded to punch me while I skipped... ouch! I skipped faster but he still managed to slip in a punch to my arm while the rope continued to swing round and round.

7. I envy the guys at my boxing for being so easily able to spar on any given day. I hate the fact I have to plan weeks in advance for my sparring partner to meet with me. Mind ya, that Taekwondo chick is quite the competition for me... she's good, I respect that. I like her even if she doesn't like my jokes and is kind of cocky... at least she's not afraid to fight.

8. Invited Q over after boxing, hoping that he'd socialize with Mi Nam. The two sat on the couch watching TV and it was quite cute.

9. I still haven't decided on what to do this summer with regards to traveling to Canada or not. I'm still holding off to hear if I have a fight or not. I take it it's going to be a kind of last minute decision. Q said he really wants me to go to Canada, claiming that it will be good for me. I agree. Lately little things that really don't mean anything to me have been getting to me and I catch myself blurting out things that I once wouldn't even imagine to say out loud, let alone think. Like today for instances, some scooter went flying past me on the sidewalk in the morning when I was walking Mi Nam and instead of moving out of the way, I stood still and blurted out, "It's called a road... use it."

10. Finally got around to doing my ePortfolio for Dankook, well, half of them at least. I wish I didn't have so much to do right now but hey, it is the end of the school year and so it's expected. It'd be nice to be able to enjoy this being the last week of classes. I'd love to stick around after class and chat with students, maybe even join them for dinner or whatnot, instead, I find myself rushing home to work on grades, creating the exam, and doing the ePortfolio. Next week is exam week and then I am going in on Thursday and Friday (June 26/27) to type in final marks, meet with students for grade conferencing, and to finish off my professional portfolio with all my lesson plans and whatnot. So, at exactly 5pm on Friday, June 27th, I will start my vacation.... sweet!!!
