As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Tuesday, June 10

1. Classes were quick and painless today, lasting only 40 minutes. I thanked my students for an awesome semester and then my student Kim Me stuck around for our last stroll around campus. I’m going to miss our girl talk walks together.

2. I gave in a couple of months ago and bought couple hats, Van Dutch camouflage baseball caps. Today Mi Nam joined in on the fun with the arrival of his new camouflage baseball cap… hehehe. It looks hilarious and I swear, if I were in Canada, I wouldn’t dare to be seen with him with this silly thing on his head but in the land of endless fashion flips, flops and anything goes mentality, the hat works. Some of my neighbors have dogs with pink dyed tails, bows in their hair, tiny booties, and dresses. None of them have a hat, Mi Nam does… hehehe.

3. Met the SECOND most beautiful boy, Mi Nam being the first,… hehehe. He’s a 2 month old brown baby with more wrinkles than a 100 year old man but he’s absolutely gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous… didn’t I just say that?! Yes, he was absolutely gorgeous. He’s up for adoption at one of the nearby pet stores on a neighboring street lined with pet shops. I like his pet shop. They always have unique dogs. The owner owns two dogs that resemble Don Cherry’s former love of his life (his dog). I call their shop the Shop of Fuglies… hehehe. The dogs there, honestly, are quite ugly, but they’re so ugly they’re cute. Mi Nam fits in with them… hehehe.

4. Since Mi Nam’s last visit to the doggie spa, he’s gained quite a lot of weight. He’s going through a bit of a growth spurt and so his usual grooming sessions and bath now cost more. More dog, more money.

5. How humbling… the whole trip to the doggie spa, followed by playing with the Don Cherry dog look-a-likes, was a bit too much for Mi Nam today and so he got a bit sick… he had the runs. He had the runs about 10 feet from my building, in front of a bus stop loaded with waiting students, the photo shop and the real estate office where one of the Boxing Commission friends works. Ya… not fun. The students had a good laugh as I tried to hid my face in my hoodie.

6. The neighboring photo shop owner recognized me, came out to say hi and to talk to me about my boxing, how embarrassing. There I was scooping up a foot long trail of green squishy poop while the photo shop owner yelled out, “Ah Amy! How is your boxing? I saw you on TV!” Great… yelling out my name was just perfect. Now not only was I that embarrassed foreign girl they’ll probably laugh about for days but now they ALL know my name.

7. Needless to say, for the rest of the evening, I totally went out of my way to ignore the front part of my building, the scene of the crime. I can’t really get mad at Mi Nam though. His lack of social skills got a boot in the butt today and it was a bit over whelming for him.

8. Handsome Boy finally returned to training today after getting settled with his new married life.

9. After training tonight, I managed to convince Q to go see the cute puppy I’ve set my eye on. Q agreed, the puppy is super cute and would be a good match for Mi Nam. Having said this however, Q said that maybe it isn’t such a great idea. From the afternoon to the late evening, I have convinced myself and set my hopes up to believe that it’s a good idea. Mi Nam has been good to me, awesome to me actually, but I know he’s bored when I go to work. I’m never really out of the house for very long but I’d feel better if I knew that Mi Nam had some kind of companionship beyond what he already gets from me. Moreover, right now it’s just Mi Nam and I in the house but what happens if I marry Q?! Mi Nam will have to adjust from being the sole attention getter in the house to having to share my attention. I sense this being a problem, a real problem. But if he had a friend, he wouldn’t feel jealous or somewhat ignored.

10. Called Q to say goodnight to him and he told me that he was reading my homepage. I knew he occasionally visited my homepage to look at my pictures but tonight was the first time he’s ever tried to read it. I feel flattered but at the same time a bit nervous. I don’t take back what I wrote but I hope he doesn’t misinterpret it.

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Should I adopt him?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
In giving advice, seek to help, not please, your friend.

Does Mi Nam get along well with other dogs??? Consider that first. My cat does not get along with other animals AT ALL so i am stuck with him and only him. Not that that's bad...

But that dog is too adorable and I think they would be cute playmates...but what do I know...
