As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Wednesday, June 11

1. Rushed off to Seoul for my Korean classes and then did my usual review cramming on the bus.

2. Had an interview with two of the writers from KBS. They came by after my Korean studies finished because they wanted to also meet my Korean language teacher. Off the top of my head, I can't remember the name of the TV show KBS is showcasing me on but from what I know about it, it's a show about interracial marriages, particularly those involving a foreigner and Korean. Now I'm not married and so I'm not too sure why they'd want me for their show but they seem to be really eager and interested in doing a story on me... cool. Show is to air in less than two weeks. I'll keep ya posted with the exact date when I get word.

3. It was funny getting interviewed, I mean, I've been interviewed before here in Korea but the writers spoke English. These two writers today didn't speak a word of English and so I tried my best to answer. Occasionally I used my Korean language teacher as an interpreter. I couldn't help but curiously wonder about what my teacher thought of my answers... hehehe. In class I focus hard on grammar but in the interview I tried to comfortably answer in Korea, thinking more of what I want to say verses how to say it.

4. As if my week wasn't busy enough with planning for the end of the school semester, but now it's even more busier... didn't think that was possible.

Today: 1 hour interview with KBS
Friday: KBS is coming to Cheonan to film me at Dankook and at home with Mi Nam.
Saturday: KBS is coming to film me sparring and training at the boxing club.
Sunday: More filming with KBS. In the morning they're filming Q and I together and then in the afternoon I am having Korean language class so they can film me studying.

5. By the time I got done in Seoul and arrived in Cheonan, it was was about 5pm and I was exhausted. I still had to work on planning my exam for the university and marking... ahhhh!!!

6. I keep reminding myself, in about 2 week's this go-go-go push at work will be all over.

7. Got the heck scared out of me tonight by the notoriously known older-than-old woman who sits in the corner of her house gate. The first time I saw her she freaked both Mi Nam and I out. I hadn't noticed her and then all of a sudden she moved, causing me to practically jump out of my skin and Mi Nam to bark at her. Tonight it happened again. Old-Gal-Stone, as I call her, spooked me and Mi Nam barked, like always. Tonight, however, for some reason she tried to whack Mi Nam with her bag that looked about twice her size. Usually I am overly apologetic when Mi Nam barks at her but today I bursted out in laughter. "Please be careful" I told her... Old-Gal-Stone, you're going to kill yourself if you keep this violent behavior up... oh gosh.

8. Good deal: I buy and you cook... this is the deal I've started with Q. Tonight we had a cute picnic dinner while I worked away on emailing students and typing up their exam.

9. Am slowly but surely introducing Q into the wonderful world of fashion. With a couple of my team mates showing off their very trendy and hip styles lately, I couldn't help but give Q the glance over and try to picture him among them. I for one am such a clothes horse. I think my clothes alone would make it almost impossible to move back to Canada with out taking up the plane's cargo space with my clothes... hehehe. As for Q though, he's all about comfort and cuteness and so on that note, today I bought him a pair of green 3/4 length cargo's... and they look, feel, and sit pretty nicely on his bod.... cool.

10. Sat down with Q to discuss the whole idea of adopting Mr. Winkles... no, that's not his real name but I thought it appropriate to at least call him something beyond "the puppy". I told him that this has to be a joint decision cause, in a year or so, Mr. Winkles will also be his dog. Although Mi Nam isn't very social, my concern isn't so much with him. I think he'd adjust just fine cause he's a very carefree and easy-going young boy who's never denied nor ignored anyone who has shown him even the least amount of affection. It'd be nice to make Mi Nam an older brother and see how adapts to Mr. Wrinkles. Now Mr. Wrinkles, on the other hand, I've done my research on him. He's apparently super easy to train and will get a bit bigger than Mi Nam. He'll be alright with the amount of exercise I give Mi Nam but I think he's a bit more of a tougher dog than Mi Nam and so I worry that he'll try to boss Mi Nam. I think that's where the first few months of training and discipline will really count. Ahh... it'd be so nice to have an extra little guy. It'd be me and my boys; Q, Mi Nam and Mr. Wrinkles. I can picture it now, me and Q zooming off to the park with our boys in the back of the truck. Mountain side picnics with the boys, late night strolls with the boys,... Christmas with the boys. It'd be a complete family.

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Why can't I make this decision?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
