As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Tuesday, September 15

1. Worked out back and chest, well, what’s left of it.

2. It’s been decided upon as the best scenario that I should go to Canada this winter to visit and so preparations to visit Canada at Christmas have started. I’ve already started teaching Snickers English, the travel agent has been drilled with numerous questions, and Canada has already been informed we are coming. I should be in Canada right now though, given the extreme situation that is playing out right now but I’ve been told to hold off till Christmas. The issue is still very fresh and things are still very much unstable and so I was told to wait.

3. Apparently not everyone thinks I should wait. “I find your lack of empathy repulsive” was the second half to the one sentence that was emailed to me today… nice, real nice. I could think of a million and one things to say but I wasn't too sure on what exactly to write back, so I didn't because that comment was so wrong in so many ways.

4. The Wicked Witch of Sambu (aka my former landlady) continues to be a royal pain in the you-know-where and I am convinced she’s trying to make me die of stress. It’s one thing after another with this woman and despite doing all that I could and having moved out about a month ago, she continues to bother Snickers on the phone with her continually calling.

5. She promised she’d give me my key money tomorrow but, like all other promises she’s made and she’s broken, I will believe it when I see it.

6. You know you’re a bit too close for comfort when you find yourself talking about your “bathroom issues” with someone… yup. That was the situation that had played out today with Junior Mint and so I returned to the boxing club today with some over the counter laxatives… hahaha.

7. Despite my love of Coffee Bean and the grade A goodness that comes from that place, I’ve started my own line of coffee. It’s called G.G. Bean, as in Guum Ggum Bean… hahaha. Lately I’ve been fiddling around in the kitchen a lot but my fascination with mixing things I like has ventured over to the field of coffee.

8. I use to eat out of boredom but now when I get bored I turn my kitchen into a kind of edible science lab, mixing this and that and adding dashes of whatever.

9. Made this wickedly delicious coffee; I call it Mocha-love. It’s a mix of that drip coffee I bought a week or so back, with a couple of drops of honey, a slash of milk, and the “love” in the “Mocha-love” is the Hersey chocolate kiss that I use to line the rim of the cup. It’s delish but don’t get me wrong, it’s definitely not calorie or fat free but “all in moderation”, is what I say. Today I had a coffee and I probably won’t have another Mocha-love till next week.

10. Have been addicted to salads lately. Today I made a tuna pasta salad. It consisted of a can of drained tuna, a mix of various green leaves (included sesame seed leaves, yummy), a bit of shredded mozzarella cheese, just enough cesar salad dressing to lightly coat it, and then of course some pasta. I’ve been really trying to drop my body fat percentage and so I’m back on my 3-day carb plan (no carb day, low carb day, high carb day). Today was my high carb day, hence the pasta, but the beauty of this delish salad that if I take out the pasta it’s still mouth-watering and fits well with my low carb days.

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
How much information is too much information?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
Decaffeinated coffee is kind of like kissing your sister.
