As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Still Pondering... Thursday, February 9

If you could start any company, any business, or open up any kind of store and someone else would financially support your idea, what would you do?

This is the dilemma that’s been weighing on Snicker’s shoulders lately and I commented about it in an earlier post. Surprisingly enough no one commented. I even posed the question on my Facebook account too. Some answered by the answers were few and the answers were, well, quite dry and boring. In my eyes, I think this is an amazing opportunity and my head is buzzing with ideas.

Snickers’ initial idea was to open up a kind of family entertainment place (that I can’t go into much detail about because I don’t know if the idea is a go or no-go). He had a prize location in mind but, as it turned out, that specific location is worth about $900,000. Despite the fact that his financial sponsor is willing to finance him, asking for this much plus the cost of the carts, equipment and whatnot needed, we’re talking about ton of needed cash that stretches way beyond what we could ever expect.

Today we got offered two other business proposals, one from Adidas and one from a friend of Snickers. The business proposal from Adidas is a sales commission job for the two of us, in addition to having Snickers model for some poster advertising they want to make and me modeling on a home shopping channel one hour show. We both agreed to the promotional work but told Adidas we’d tell them our answer later regarding their sales proposal.

As for the second business offer for the day, both Snickers and I got asked to move to China and work for a friend who wants to extend his business – a dentist office -- to China. He’d stay in Korea to manage his Korea branch and we’d move to China to manage his branch in China. To tell you the truth though, I’m not interested. First of all, it’s cool that one of my cousins lives in China but I’m not interested in picking up my life and moving there. If I’m going to pick up my life and move any where it’d either be to move to Canada or the Philippines. Moreover, we know nothing about a dentist’s office beside the fact that I try to stay away from it as much as possible. I’ve always hated the dentist and being sponsored by a dental surgeon doesn’t mean I hate the dentist office any less.

I thought the question was a rhetorical question. ;-) As for what I would set up, my boyfriend and I have talked about opening a hagwon together. This is quite a real possibility, but certainly not something I'm passionate about. As for 'dream' businesses we're passionate about...My boyfriend would love to be a CEO and would kick start off with a business selling iron (and then later to production)..that's his dream. I think I would like to own a gym (for general fitness).

Actually, I would absolutely love to coach either gymnastics or wrestling. So, I would open a gym for coaching. That is just my dream but not one that I'm sure I will ever pursue.

To add to my previous comment...a hostel in another country. :) It seems 'simple' enough to do, provided I had a good location.
