As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Story Time... Wednesday, May 23

The three unconnected pictures and their stories:

Photo One: Seorak Mountain

Got the official ok to start planning the Flipside Fitness weekend get-away to Seorak Mountain – the third highest mountain in Korea.  A sponsor has officially volunteered his pension for a weekend stay for me and 7 of my lovely ladies so I’m totally stoked about it.  Trekking up the mountain with my fabulous, fierce female gal-pals is going to be awesome, the scenery is going to be stunning and staying for free at a great pension only adds to the fabulocity of the whole event!!!  Only one problem, I can only take 7 ladies… boo to that.  There’s a lot of fun, fierce females here in Cheonan, true, but I think telling them that we’re going to do the hardest of hard treks up the mountain just might work to strain them out.  That’d be kind of nice in that I really don’t want to have to pick and choose, how would I do so anyways?!  The sponsor volunteered his pension to say thank you and to encourage me with planning more fitness-friendly events for the lovely ladies of Cheonan so this trip is really for those who have supported Flipside Fitness, to say thank you to them.  Flipside Fitness wouldn’t be anything if it weren’t for the continual support and participation of those who make it so great.  Having said this though, it’d also be nice to have a few new faces come along for the awesome weekend get-away – to share the fabulocity of my fun, fierce females with those who have not yet caught the awesome vibe of my ladies.

Photo Two: Gangsta’ Gotti

Guess who’s back?!  Yup, Gangsta’ Gotti is!!! He returned with a clean bill of health from the auto shop today.  I was almost tempted to slap his picture up on the Cheonan People Facebook page, to kind of scare the person who stole him from me.  Dude stole Gotti from me when I was in Canada burying my mother, how brutally heartless is that?!  Ok, so he didn’t know where I was or what I was doing but dude knew that that scooter wasn’t his.  And to think, Snickers found Gotti parked just a measly five minutes down the street from Ggum Guum.  It was parked outside of the Sharp Building where I think this particular fella actually lives.

Do you remember Snickers launched “Operation Beat-down”, back in January/February when he initially discovered my stolen Gotti outside of KB Bank?!  Well, he stalked Gotti for a good month, staying there sometimes all day and all night, even getting his rough-and-tough badboy buddies in on the action.  Everyone wanted to catch the villian.  Honestly, thank God for the thief’s sake that Snickers never did catch him, dude would be unrecognizable right now if he had.

Photo Three: Mung Chi and Snickers

My mother once told me that the way to get over a past lost love is to get a new love.  She didn’t mean get a new boy/girlfriend but instead direct your energy into a new passion, a new hobby.  For me, to get over my Notorious Ex, I adopted Mi Nam and today, for Mouse Doctor and Cheeto Girl, it was adopting Mung Chi.  It was only yesterday that they lost little Jaun Ji but Wonder Boy has been pleading with us for some time to adopt Mung Chi.  Mung Chi has been living in Suwon at Wonder Boy’s car dealership but the more and more Wonder Boy sees Pyen Chi with us the more and more he really wants to give Mung Chi the life we’ve given Pyen Chi.  However, beside Mung Chi lives outside 24/7, he is quite wild and well, Pyen Chi lives quite a luxurious life that’s full of things she doesn’t like to share, of which morning cuddles with me is definitely one of them.  She already lives with Balboa but I don’t think it’d be right to mix in Mung Chi.

Then I came up with a great idea – give Mung Chi to Mouse Doctor.

Mouse Doctor accepted the proposal and today Wonder Boy brought Mung Chi to Cheonan.  We had somewhat of a symbolic meeting.  We met at the bottom of TaeDu Mountain, the very mountain where we had just yesterday buried Jaun Ji.  Wonder Boy pulled up in a truck with Mung Chi sitting in the back open cab.  Mouse Doctor and Cheeto girl untied him from the truck and then allowed him to jump out.

I’m happy they have Mung Chi.  Cheeto Girl absolutely adores Pyen Chi so it’s obvious she’s a big fan of massive dogs.  We’re hoping to have a doggie walk date sometime next week, after Mung Chi settles in and settles down.  It’d definitely be a cool sight to see both Pyen Chi and Mung Chi crusing along the riverside together!!!  It’d definitely give the community something to talk about… hahaha.

I felt so sad after reading the previous post about the death of the dog...but I'm glad they are going to make a better life for another dog. I'm also stoked about that trip! I hope I can get in on that action. I'm now working on building back my calf muscle which started to atrophy...boy does it burn! lol. And congrats on FINALLY getting your bike back! w00t!
