As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

A Boy and His Dog... Saturday, June 30

With Pyen Chi MIA for the next nine days and Balboa exhausted from a busy day with me, I slipped out of the house late in the evening for sparring and then for a hot date with my man, Snickers. We were “four-legged friend free” for the night, or so I thought.

Snickers and I headed to one of our favourite coffee shops, a beautiful place called The Coffee Tree. Massive bags of coffee beans stacked along the walls greet you when you walk in the door and over sized couches keep you from leaving. It’s a very chill place. I’m always trying to get Snickers to sit with me at the coffee counter/bar but he likes the couches.

Anyways, so there I was, all dolled up -- a string of pearls around my neck, a lacy top that’s a bit racy, a pair of killer stiletto heels and a pair of my tightest black pants that hug my body in all the right places. I leaned across the table towards Snickers and, with my lips all super glossy and eye lashes batting away at him, I asked him “What are you thinking?”

“I’m thinking about Pyen Chi… do you think she misses me?” was his response.

I gave a little giggle but felt somewhat obligated to tease him about it. The other day he shilled out mad cash for a used camera from one of the chefs at his restaurant. I think he honestly bought it so he could take pictures of Pyen Chi. He loves her so much!!!

A boy and his dog – the two are inseparable!
