As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

After yesterday's one single ajjuma fiascal, waiting for my workers outside and then being greeted by a local crew of ajjuma street workers left me crossing my fingers, legs and toes and hoping today wouldn't be a repeat.
I watched our ajjuma cleaning crew setup and get ready for their orders.  There was 7 of them that ended up showing up -- 6 middle aged women and 1 man.  One man with his hat on sideways -- homeboy style.
Getting anything done outside of Hulk's is next to impossible but we had to jet off to Arirang to finalize the plans for our outdoor large sign.  When we got there however, they had a surprise waiting for us -- two large "coming soon" banners and a parking sign.
Our colors aren't actually dark green and hot pink but I like what they did and we definitely appreciated their generous gesture of support.  I've been doing business with them for about 5 years now and I certainly will continue.  Their donation to Hulk's was awesome and the other day them showing up to check out our club was also very cool.
A good chunk of our late afternoon was spent trying to figure out how to hang our sandbags.  We've got ten in total to setup but with a ceiling that is 12+ feet high, the problem we ran into is trying to control just how much the bag swings when it's punched.  Then of course there's the issue of drilling into the large ceiling beams and lifting the bag up for Snickers to connect it.  Ended up resting the entire weight of the bag on my back and squating while he tried to tie it up. The things I do for Hulk... seriously!
