As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

These five pictures summed up today perfectly.
An excessive amount of prep work and money went into today's Grand Opening Party and though I really hated the idea and possibilities of all this food killing our floor, I decided to suck it up and agree to it because Snickers wanted it.
Having Snickers and Panty Boy Jr. spar at our party was awesome.  For me, it was a reminder that though our boxing team has changed throughout the years, the core of our team is still very much a team and we support each other no matter what.
I felt so proud when this shot was taken, knowing that all these people had come to support our boxing club.  Many of my Korean friends and family went on and on about how many foreigners were there but I thought it was so cool.  We're the United Nations club of Korea!!!
When everyone finally left, Brooklyn stayed behind to hang out and chat.  He's definitely one of my favourite in-laws and he totally gets me.
I stood in front of this -- our motto.  We had unveiled it today and I absolutely love it.  "Better than yesterday" with how you hard you train, how you eat clean... with everything, like how you live your life.

The Internet sure makes the world a small place. A random self-google search to show somebody something led me to your blog. It turns out that I slapped you once in elementary school. I'm sorry for three primary reasons:

1) nobody should hit a girl. You should know I don't do that sort of thing ... and I apologize, but I do not recall the incident. Sorry for slapping you, tho. That's just rude.
2) you could most likely kick my ass.
3) your husband could definitely kick my ass.

Congratulations on the club, it looks awesome from the pictures! I'm sure a lot of hard work went into that, you guys should be proud of your efforts. I wish you much success in your future!

OH MY GOSH TJ!!!

Hi TJ, I was just thinking of you the other day actually! I tried to look you up on Facebook after a long conversation I had with my dad about friends from back in the day. That's wild.
Don't worry about the slap but do you remember when you told me to stick my finger in your fan? Ya, you turned it on silly guy!!! My mom was furious because I was wearing my new white dress that day -- wore that dress JUST for you and you went and chopped up my finger, nice.
Thanks for the congrats, much appreciated. Hope all is well with you and that you're not slapping girls anymore or chopping up their fingers ;)

Gosh, it's a good thing I went ahead and basically changed my name so that nobody would dig up my questionable history!

Did I mention that I used to be a bit of s shit? It got better. Apparently, some things you grow out of. So, uh ... sorry again. Haha.
