With people "self straining" themselves from our club, it's nice to see that the dedicated are staying, many first timers have become pro stars, others have caught the "boxing bug" or "crossfit craze", friendships have developed, challenges have been posed and conquered among the disbelievers, and some very interesting new members have joined our crew.
August 15th --30th will be the testimony as to who really wants to be here.
For many it will be the start of their third month, many their second, but by the end of August all the soft-opening members who jumped in on the initial soft-opening mad discounted price and scored a three month discounted membership will have to decide whether to continue or not. I know some of them won't and that's fine. I keep on having to remind myself that yes this is a business and not a social club but it's really become both. And because it has become both, we're not about negative vibes or people dragging in their excuses when they come train... or should I say DON'T train.
Our crew just added an actor to our membership roster, that's pretty cool. I first met him tonight actually, nice guy. He came in to talk to me and two of my members knew who he was. Wednesday he starts training at our club and I'm looking forward to it because in addition to him wanting to lose the weight he's also doing it because a potential upcoming audition he has depends on it. There are no ifs, ands, or buts. It's get it done or don't get the job -- talk about pressure. I've got a month to knock off about 5kgs off his bod so that's a pretty cool challenge for both he and I.
Junior Mint has yet to visit our boxing club and we've yet to figure out my boxing license... mess?! Potential mess?! We've held off because of legal loose ends we still had to scramble around and do. There's so much legal background administration stuff that people really have no clue about and each business is totally different. The fact that our building, with the exception of our floor that is, is completely abandoned throws in more issues into the pile to deal with as does us starting a business that's in the health industry. There's coaching licenses, additional insurances needed and the list of paper work needed just never stops.
