As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Shout-Outs to my Musical Friends... Friday, August 9

I had the "joy" of cleaning the entire boxing club myself and let me tell you, the word "joy" is attached to some excessively loud sarcasm and mental images of me making some one's head into a make-shift speed bag here!!!  Surprisingly enough, it didn't turn out so bad actually so I'd like to send some special shout-outs here to some key people who really helped me rock out and get through the tiring, difficult task.

Taylor -- Ah Miss. Swift, never was a fan of you really but your Mean song, definitely brought back some memories of my Bad Boy Ex and reminded me that yes, I have become something big and my ex has remained mean.  It was interesting to walk down memory lane and remember how he broke up with me -- he pulled up at my high school parking lot and told me to get out of the car.  I turned and told him "in 10 years you're going to come back and you'll see how you held me back -- maybe I'll give you a job but I won't give you anything else.  I was meant for more than you".  Well, I'm a bit late on the 10 years thing but now I probably could give him a job, after all I do have my own boxing club, but then again.  Perhaps he could clean my toilets... with his bare hands (if only he were so lucky).  Ah Taylor, the songs we could write together!!!

DMX -- Yes, I made the mistake of yelling out "I love DMZ" the other month and yes, I know it's still being joked about but you know I love you.  You know your "Get it On the Floor" song will ALWAYS get me dancing and bopping around on the floor.  You're still my favourite song to pump myself up for a good intense workout and tonight you're just what I needed to pump myself up for what initially felt like an impossible task.

Timbaland &  Magoo -- I first met you when I was dating the Bad Boy Ex so you'll always be associated with him but I still love you.  Miss our days of cruising down the street in that ghetto nasty car with your beats blasting, leaving the neighbors frowning and complaining to each other.  It's nice to see you've followed me to Korea here and your songs, though they're outdated now and old skool, I still think they're super cool.  They'll always remind me of hot summer nights with campfires and that dang old nasty Chevrolet with the door that never did really open fully.

ABBA -- I may be a silly dancing Polack but your dancing queen made me feel like quite the cleaning queen even though by the end of your song I was the one who definitely needed the clean!!!

Brittney -- Yes, you're rather crazy and you proved this with your whole head shaving incident but your catchy tunes and rocking beats really helped me keep the rhythm with the vacuuming.

Pitbull -- Dude, keep your passion IN your pants, I don't want to know, but thanks for the crazy contagious thumping beats.

I had cranked the tunes so loud that even when I was clearly yelling from my gut and no longer singing, I could barely make out my own voice.  It was THAT loud!!!  It was awesome.  Some random people stopped in when I was cleaning because with the music cranked it created quite the commotion outside with people walking by.  And thanks to my loud blaring music, a job that usually takes TWO PEOPLE an hour and a half to do took me only an hour.  Awesome loud beats (with perhaps a one too-late coffee) were definitely to thank for my super woman cleaning job... hahahaha.
