As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Celebrating with Perfect Shabu-Shabu

The ingredients and how to for perfect shabu-shabu.
First you need a Korean hottie, that's the first and most important ingredient -- hey, that's what my recipe book reads so don't point your finger at me.  Trust me though, you'll need him.
Next, you'll need a hot pot of greens.
You will also need a plate of thinly sliced raw beef and, if you happen to throw in an amazing restuarant owner who happens to know you love extra mushrooms, than pure bonus!
Remember that Korean hottie?!  Well, now you'll need him.  Get him to throw some of that beef and those mushrooms into the steaming pot with all those greens.  I'll let you help him stir here.
Your shabu-shabu is now ready for you to enjoy, so smile at that Korean hottie, tell him thank you and then enjoy your perfect shabu-shabu.
If you want to make a marathon out of it, you can always ask for the waitress to bring you noodles to add into that amazing broath that's left from your shabu-shabu.  Then, for the last stretch of the meal, you can go for the rice with mixed veggies and egg too.
