Took the day off and did N-O-T-H-I-N-G.
I slept in till about 5pm.
I didn't even so much as go out to get groceries and run errands -- I texted a list to Snickers to do so. Yes, I did nothing and I milked the "but it's is my day off" card to the core! I milked it so much that when Snickers did get home and he asked me if I had done the laundry, I threw that bad boy "but it's my day off" card so hard on the counter that the dirty dishes that yes I didn't wash [enter me waving the "but it's my day off" card here] rattled.
Ok, so there is no "card" but yes I definitely did milk the excuse and I felt it was justifiable because I didn't want to even take the day off. Yes, I said that -- I DIDN'T WANT TO EVEN TAKE THE DAY OFF. I only took the day off because one of Snickers' buddies had the "bright idea" to randomly pull a Sports Day today at the insane hour of 6am.
At 6am?!!! Yes, the extra exclamation marks were definitely appropriate here.
At 6am I had only been asleep for a few hours so I was clearly in zombie mode when the phone rang and then when they showed up with their car honking, announcing to the entire street that they were up at the crack of dawn. I was not impressed, to say the least, nor was I impressed when Snickers left after we argued about the craziness of the hour. I couldn't sleep and I didn't sleep. I tossed and turned and mumbled and groaned until about 11am when he returned.
"I'm not going to work today" I told him as I tossed the blanket over my head.
Waiting up at 5pm doesn't seem so crazy now, now that you know it's because I didn't really go to sleep until almost noon.
So I slept in until 5pm but didn't actually get out of my bed until 9pm. My cell phone has a freakishly large screen so emailing, checking Facebook and keeping up with my addition to Pinterest is quite easy to do. And that's exactly what I did; fumble around on my phone before I realise that I had to go to the bathroom. That's pretty much where my evening turned and it was only because I couldn't hold it in any much longer.
One trip to the bathroom turned into turning on the computer to play some music, which in turn resulted in me somehow stumbling across an ad about Shutterfly having a Up to 50% Off sale on their books. I sat down to browse through their books, merely to see their styles and to spend a few minutes brainstorming one for myself. Well, a few minutes turned into a few hours and long after Snickers had returned home from work and gone to bed, I was STILL on Shutterfly, creating a photo album. It felt so addicting and the more I tried to tell myself to stop and go to bed, the more I convinced myself that if I stopped now perhaps tomorrow I wouldn't remember my great idea. If only I could find that one particular photo, if only I just finished up that little blurb, if only.... if only it weren't 4am?! SAY WHAT?!
I finally called it quits at 5:05am but only because the computer screen froze... tomorrow I will continue!!!
