As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Finding Inspiration in Each Other

For those of you living here in Korea and fighter fans, many of you know her, respect her and have seen her all over KBC Sports.  It's my friend Hee Jung.
Both her and her husband are Korean champions, in and out of the ring, and I consider myself privileged to meet quite an inspiring fellow pro female boxer.  Just wished she lived closer to Cheonan!
And though my friend may be hours away from me, a simple encouraging text message definitely helped to get me up and hitting the sandbags for some late night training.
I had told myself that I wasn't leaving until I trained -- trained hard!
And that's exactly what I did, true to my word, because if I want to be a champ then I have to train like a champ and part of training like a champ means going the extra mile that the average boxer wouldn't.
My goal has NEVER been to be average!!!
