As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Carb-Loading Heaven... Saturday, May

Tomorrow we run so today we eat, well I eat and Snickers trains.

We opened the club tonight for Free Train and it was rather weird to sit there and watch Snickers and the others train.  I wanted to at least do some weight training or some rounds on the sandbag.  Snickers and my main sponsor insisted I save my energy for tomorrow so secretly I did leg lifts as I sat there watching them train -- it's a decent ab exercise.

Ended up excusing myself and going to the office to chat on KakaoTalk with some of my boxing gal pals, one of which had a fight today actually.  I didn't attend her fight, I didn't attend any of the fights today actually.  I really just didn't want to deal with the whole controversy KBC/KBA has created these days.  I knew if I attended, I'd be sitting there rolling my eyes, mumbling "oh please", giving dirty looks to the fighter fans and wishing they'd go away.  I am a boxer fan and there's a huge difference between that and a fighter fan.  A boxer fan cheers for a fair fight between evenly matched opponents, a fighter fan cheers for the fighter regardless of it it's fair match up or not.

But anyways...

Yesterday and today I've been carb-loading and I LOVE IT -- filling up on some extra clean carbs.  Extra sweet potatoes and loads of fruit for me, thank you very much.  With tomorrow's run being a lengthy 21km, I'm going to need some extra energy and that energy is most definitely going to come from some healthy clean carbs.  I'm optimistic about tomorrow's run despite not getting in nearly as much mileage as I should have, would have and could have.  My goal is just to get it done and finish under the 2 hour mark.  But tonight, the difficultly of tomorrow's run is the pretty much the furthest thing on my mind as all my focus seems to be on indulging in some healthy carb-loading.  I'm pretty sure that the carb-loading alone is motivation for me to participate in this intense races.  Oh man, I am so food driven... hahaha.
