As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Never a Boring Monday, That's for Sure

I thought something was up when I saw the Corner Godfather (older man in the blue plaid shirt) starring at the first floor window.  And then the man who works the corner jewelry store joined him.
... as did the police.  And then more police too actually.
As for my main concern today, it was breaking in my new in-your-face bright yellow Adidas kicks.
WOW broke in his brand spankin' new Nike white boxing boots today and ya, they look super cool but they're Nikes and my Adidas can kick Nike's butt to the curb any day!
And taking about getting your butt kicked, today's mid afternoon sparring ended suddenly and with one boxer being introduced to the good old liver shot.  Note here, a liver shot can be extremely excruciatingly and today's liver shot definitely was.  (Blame Snickers here for this hard lesson).
