As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

For the Love of Sparring and Food

This is how I started my Friday, with my K-Bere gang of three wanting to play but me needing to put away some 60+ towels and clean the club by myself.
Snickers doesn't work on Fridays, well he does every second Friday, and though it's only two hours during our Sparring Day, I vouch that it's a lot harder than my 10 hours.  Letting whomever steps into the ring to challenge him to sparring can't be easy but then again that's why he was Korea's champion.  He is still very much the champion and soon he will become champion again.
The first to step into the ring tonight was a fellow fierce female... very cool.
We had some new faces step into the ring tonight and that was pretty cool.
I always have props to those who step into the ring for sparring.  It's not easy.
Snickers doesn't go 100% with his effort on those who step in to spar but he definitely makes them work hard for those extra props I have for them.
Decided to secretly plan a chicken party for those who participated in Sparring Day today.
Vita500 (vitamin juice), bread and chicken for everyone!!!
Later in the evening I even made some roasted bananas.
Eat up Hulkies!!! Got to match your clean eating with your hard training, especially if we want to add more trophies and victories to our already impressive record.
The food didn't stop after our Sparring Day chicken party... nope.
Fridays are Fun Days for our mini Hulkies so tonight we played a few games, I had my two mini assistants work on the club's December calendar, and then I gave them a little cooking class.  Even one of the "bigger kids" got in on the fun... hahaha.  Sure he's no mini Hulkie but he helped out.
