Compliment of the day was Black Skinny telling me to stop my full marathon training, he said he doesn't want me to beat him at the marathon. But, between you and me, I think he's going to smoke me in the race regardless of if he trains or not. He's one of those freakishly athletic people who are just awesome at any and every sport they try their hand out. Plus, he may not be getting out to run much but with his legs that pretty much go up to my ears, he doesn't need much training. His legs cut the distance in half.
Got word that a special someone was flying in to Korea to come visit me and when Cheetoh Girl and Mouse Doctor suddenly arrived around 7:30pm with big smiles, I thought my visitor had come with them. No such luck. However, they did happen to bring a special little visitor, Baekcomb (Pac's father)!!! A four-legged little guy wasn't what I anticipating but he was a nice surprise too.
No two-legged special visitor today [enter a tear here].
Perhaps it was best that our visitor didn't come today. He would have been super proud at just how backed, crazy busy we were today but we wouldn't have been able to talk to him till much later in the evening. Our first member came today at 5pm and they were followed by 15 others in that hour. A steady flow of members coming to train continued till about 9pm when it then died down for a bit. Most of our members come between the hours of 5-8pm these days now.
Pyen Chi's having her period, correction, Pyen Chi is finishing up her period which means she's still super snappy at people she doesn't know and has very little patience for Balboa and Pacqioa sniffing her rear nonstop. For the record, and this gives me some relief, I read online that Pyen Chi's breed of dog has been ranked as one of the top protective dog breeds. On a website called DogBreed.info, I read the following:
One of the most protective dog breeds is a Tibetan Mastiff. This breed is famous for not liking anyone else except his family. Originally kept inside during the day and then turned out at night, they are quite well-mannered inside, though extremely independent and not to be trusted off leash outside unless confined.
So, according to this particular website, Pyen Chi considers Snickers and me family but also Wow and his two sons, and Mouse Doctor. Pyen Chi absolutely loves Wow to such an extreme that she'll break out of the bedroom and come running top speed at him if she hears his voice. She got herself so worked up once when Mouse Doctor decided to randomly pick her up and spin her that she then peed every where. He continued spinning her and she continued peeing her, it was hilarious to watch but definitely a whole other thing when I got stuck having to then clean it up.
It was a hectic Monday, hence the scatterbrain entry today, but I got through it. Every Monday Snickers and I start the day off with an extra early, extra long clean of the club and then we sit down for a breather before the chaos begins. It took us 2.5hrs to clean the club today and I can still see things I have to clean, like the mirrors. After cleaning I then give myself an hour to relax and recharge my battery before then I kick my butt with boxing and weight training.
"If we can just survive today, the rest of the week is no problem", or so we tell ourselves but it's true. Mondays by far are our busiest day of the work week. It's marked by an abundance of new members signing up because of weekend guilt and/or the desire to start the fresh new week off right and current members also wanting to start the new week off strong. Today we didn't have so many new members as we did former members wanting to rejoin. I always love it when former members return. It's like seeing long lost friends.
