As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Work Before Work and Work After Work

One of the things I love so much about starting my workday so late is being able to drive downtown and do things without the hassle of traffic, long lines and big crowds of people.
It feels like everyone is working and I'm here, able to enjoy the freedom from the chaos.
Before club hours started, Snickers and I were busy running errands.  Work never does start at 2pm nor does it ever end at midnight.  There is always business before official work hours and work that continues after the club doors are closed, but today part of our business involved being treated to sushi.
Holy sushi overload.  I think I pretty much ate my weight in tuna... delish!!!
Another part of my job that I absolutely love is how I'm able to have my beautiful 3 four-legged friends here with me.  Sometimes I sneak into their back doggy room and just hug and kiss them while members are training.  It's a nice little time out and having them here definitely gives me a piece of mind knowing that they're safe and they're very much a part of our club.
I think they think they help me with work but these two cuties peeking at me from underneath tonight's laundry, they proved to be more distracting than anything... can't say I didn't appreciate the distraction though.  Having to hang three loads of club towels isn't exactly fun but it is when you've got three little ones, or not-so-little as is the case with Pyen Chi, trying to steal your kisses.
