I may have not got an official birthday present today on my birthday, no cake and no party, but I definitely felt blessed. I did get a birthday card though and about a zillion-billion people wish me a happy birthday via in-person, text messages, email, and Facebook. It was an overload of birthday wishes today, very cool, but it was exceptionally awesome for me to personally to be spending it in Canada. And, if that wasn't cool enough, I spent it in Toronto as today marked my move to Toronto.
Today I moved into my apartment in Toronto; a shared accommodation that I had found online this past Tuesday at 12:30am, so technically on Wednesday. It is awesome, flat out awesome. It's an attic apartment located in Forest Hill, a very well-off Jewish area where the houses are as beautiful as they are expensive and well-kept. I live across the street from a school, down the street from a massive forested park, and a few houses away from the main street bus stop.
I decided not to go out for my birthday, not to meet friends and not make a fuss of it because I know this time next year I'll be back in Korea. Korea doesn't really do holidays and so things like birthdays are quickly looked over. I didn't want to have the awesomeness of this year's birthday to bring me down next year, basically. And so today after I got my hair done, moved into my new apartment, and said goodbye to my dad, I headed out to training. It's what I do and am who I am, a boxer who trains. I got to System Fitness shortly after 9pm and stayed right till closing, 11pm. I boxed, I weight trained, I pushed myself to exhaustion and then I returned to my apartment, ate, showered, and then crashed.
