I was in such a funk today.
- They may or may not have an opponent for my December 5th fight in Edmonton.
- My boxing club in Korea may or may not actually be open right now.
These two things kicked me down into this funk today and left me trying to climb my way out of it for the rest of the day.
I knew finding an opponent may be hard because MMA is more popular in Canada than boxing but I didn't realize it'd be size that matters. I'm considered a big boxer in Korea but a very small one here in Canada. My Polish genes mixed with my excessive training and clean eating have made me and kept me small. I fight around 100lbs in Korea but they told me to put on weight for Canada. I'm now 121lbs; I've packed on a lot of muscle.
I got a phone call today from the parent of some of my mini Hulkies, asking me why her son went to Hulk's and no one was there. "There wasn't even any equipment", she added. It didn't take long for me to text some people in Korea and find out what has happened -- Hulk's has moved, I knew that, but it's been closed for a few days as they finish the move. So much for a January opening. Looks like they're already opened. No sign on the old door, no message on our Facebook group or company page, and not even so much as a text message to me. Nice. The location has changed, the business partnership has changed and even the name has changed -- Hulk's Club. The name was talked about and agreed upon. Our third partner lost by majority but I didn't even want another business partner.
