Continuing with all the fight action here in Toronto, tonight I headed out to the Hershey Centre to catch the live pro fights.
I had some sweet seats -- table seats, 2nd row from the ring.
But it wasn't so much that my seats were sweet, it was that those at my table were pretty sweet and super awesome. I had gone to tonight's fights with my former coach, the one who made me fall in love with boxing many, many moons ago -- silver medallist, Egerton Marcus.
My former coach talking to my old coach... had to catch a pic of this.
Thanks to my boxing champ and Olympian boxer buddy Troy Ross for the amazing seats!!! And a special thanks to Dexter for driving me tonight. Last night I attended his amateur tournament and tonight he, Egerton and Kimmie headed to the fights together.
Who is Kimmie, you ask, this beautiful lady is. She's a new friend of mine and I already love this lady. Love this guy too even though I just met him last night at Dex's event. He's also a fellow pro fighter, now former fighter and current.
Met up with some other key faces in Toronto's boxing scene,
faces that have become familiar friends of mine.
Also met up with United Promotions and scored my photo in tonight's fight program.
The highly anticipated fight of the night, the main title fight, was that of my friend Tim's but it ended up ending in the first round after a cut the ref thought too severe to let him continue fighting with. Man did the crowd go crazy at the decision!!!
I got a chance to briefly snap this pic of him as he stepped out of the ring and when I did so I punched him in the shoulder and told him our table went completely crazy at the ref's call. They called the fight a draw, which means neither his nor his opponent's record will be damaged by the fight but to have trained so hard and not be allowed the due chance to show your skill and prove yourself in the ring... wow, I can only image his disappointment and disgust with the ref's call.
