Trying to Further Brand Myself in Canada... Wednesday, April 13

I'm on Twitter now... great.

I was on Twitter before, temporarily and just mainly for the sake of Hulk's Boxing, but now I'm on it for the sake of further branding myself as Dead Aim Amy.  I'm back on Twitter and I'm working on a separate YouTube channel to showcase my media appearances and whatnot regarding me as a professional boxer.  This all came about from an awesome conversation I had with an even more awesome person -- my personal training client, I call her MDL (Million Dollar Lady).  The time of our chat wasn't so awesome, it was before the sun was even up, but I left with a head full of things-to-do and ideas to persue.

Today was all about doing computer work and phone calling.

I don't think people understand just how much behind-the-scenes work there is to being a professional athlete and how much work goes on beyond the obvious physical training.  The other day Coach Rico gave me some homework -- watch some YouTubes on a specific boxer and boxing style he had written down in my agenda.  My homework from Coach Perez today was to take the day to recover -- a rest day for my body.  Leave it to me though to go stir crazy and find myself at System Fitness around 7pm for training.

At 11:36pm tonight I received a message from a particular promoter in Japan.  It was late for me but early morning for him because of the time zone differences.  Anyways, he wanted to tell me about a possible fight he is trying to put together, a WBC mini flyweight title match.  It'd be set for July 2nd as a part of an Independence Day celebration at a US Army Base in Japan and the opponent would be the current champion, a fighter I have actually fought before.  The decision of that fight was much argued over, it ended in a TKO, but it's argued that I was disgualified because I didn't cover up my tattoo.  I didn't know I had to.  Rules and regulations have since changed.  Being questioned about if I want to fight her again is rather ironic because I had an amazing time fighting in Japan, despite the fight outcome that is.  They had asked me if I wanted to come back for a revenge fight, was asked if I wanted a revenge fight for the Korean Championship match I was also robbed on.  This however was the only revenge fight that has been followed up on but it's many, many moons later.  It's pretty impressive and encouraging to hear that she is still fighting and has been so successful but it only makes the temptation to return and fight her again all that stronger.

I messaged Coach Perez after I finished getting the details of the fight from the Japanese promoter and he was super excited about it.  When he first started coaching me he had mentioned about wanting me to get in 3-4 fights this year and sending me to Mexico to do so because the pool of fighters my size there is so much bigger.  Mexico and much of south east Asia, that's where they are my size and as fate may have it that may be two places I'll be traveling this year to fight.
